Candidates, who have yet to receive their West African Senior School Certificate Examinations’ results, are eligible to register for the forthcoming Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, said on Thursday.
The organisation said the clarification became necessary following the misinterpretations by many people of a press statement about its recently-concluded restructuring exercise.
The spokesperson for JAMB, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, said in Abuja that candidates, who failed to upload their results between May and August, would not be confirmed for admission into any tertiary institution.
Benjamin stated, “Nigerians are still not clear whether candidates with awaiting results will sit the UTME examinations or not. Now, we want to make it categorically clear that candidates with awaiting results are eligible to register and sit our examinations.
“However, JAMB will not confirm any admission for any candidate with awaiting result. All candidates, who are desirous of tertiary education, are to upload their O’ Level results on our website.
