Accusations Against Mo Abudu Concerning Ikoyi Appartment Addressed By Her Lawyers

Media entrepreneur Mo Abudu has released a statement on the allegations that she lives in an apartment in the building where the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) recovered huge sums of Dollars, Pounds and Naira currencies.

The identity of the owner of the said apartment of monies is not yet known, however allegations have been circulating the media that the apartment (7B) in No. 16, Osborne Road, Ikoyi, Lagos belongs to Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and that the former Rivers governor gave another apartment (7A) to Mo.

Sahara Reporters had reported that Amaechi also debunked the report in an interview, saying he has no connection whatsoever to the property, adding that “his only property in Nigeria (is) in Abuja”.

This is prior to allegations that the apartment belongs to one of People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) Chieftain, Anthony Anenih‘s daughter.

It was also alleged that the apartment belonged to Esther Nnamdi-Ogbue a former Managing Director at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) who was sacked over “missing” 130m litres of petrol.

Nnamdi-Ogbue has also debunked the reports.

Former PDP National Chairman, Adamu Muazu, who was said to be the owner of the building has also refuted the reports saying that he built the property with a loan he secured from a bank and sold the individual apartments through an Estate agent.

The statement signed by her lawyers, Streamsowers and Kohnread:

While the money has been temporarily forfeited to the federal government following a court order, unconfirmed reports say that the Nigerian Intelligence Agency (NIA) has claimed ownership of the money, saying it was for a covert operation.

    1. We shoul start by knowing who owns the building and if nobody lay claim to it then the owner should not just forfeit the money but the house too. Awon le buruku.

    2. To get the owner or occupant of the apartment isn't difficult. I dont know why Nigerians like to drag matters. If the owner leased it out then they'll trace it from there. It ain't rocket science. Whatever happens, whoever is the registered owner has a lot of answering to do. End of.

  25. This is not the first money EFCC has problem of establishing ownership. What of the money they found in Balogun market? Kaduna airport? Several other "finds". They publicise the find and within a week gullible Nigerians have forgotten about it. Just watch what will happen with this unclaimed $50M. Let's look back in 2 weeks and see what happens

    1. Anon23:12 Why is it so difficult to identity d owner of d 4 bedroom flat? At least there is an estate agency managing the building.OK .. The NIA has come forward after 3 days to claim the money, that it hv been there for 2 years and is meant for a covert operation. My question is how possible is it for NIA to leave $50M in such place without any security guarding it?? The EFCC hv to brake down the doors to enter the apartment.

  26. Mschew so no one owns d house okwaya n d estate agents managing d buildings can't categorically say who d house was let out to. #naijawehailtheeo.
