People still think he stole the Mona Lisa, the documentary I saw one time had all fingers pointing at him.

  5. I hear this Mona lisa painting hides another portrait underneath, the question is... why will L.da vinci hide one on top another when he didnt xpect it to be the most famous painting in the world? The sad part is his paintings started selling after his death.

    1. The heist and the 'so' many stories and conspiracies surrounding it made the Mona Lisa famous not the actual painting.

    2. LoL

I don't think this claim is true though.
Especially as the Museum wouldn't comment further on it. Only that they saw a sitter on it. Lol

I am thinking if they had evidence, they would have come out with proof and all.

It was actually a hoax until 2015 when some scientist discovered the hidden woman inside Mona Lisa, some people still opine its a major hoax...I support the former.

All the Masters from the the Renaissance era to Neoclassicim to Romanticism era never made huge money while they were alive, its like the curse of the Masters. The monetary value of their works increased upon their demise.
Basquait falls under the Contemporary era, he made some money while alive...I mean, dude used to shag Madonna but his works increased in value after he offed himself.

There is a blind Turkish painter whose works I have been saving up to invest in cos I know what is going to happen when he dies...oh bleeding hell, I could talk about Arts all day. Okay bye.

Fact 3; Absurd, I know but I'm one of those who still believe Picasso had a hand in the heist of The Mona Lisa for so many reasons I do not have the time of the day to type about.

I respect the Renaissance era of Art and consider Da Vinci a true master however, his works do not cut it for me. To me, Leonardo Da Vinci was a better scientist and engineer than he was a painter, The Monalisa and The Last Supper are unarguably his best pieces but how bland are they when compared to works by Peter Paul Rubens, Picasso and even Goya? That's why a Picasso can sell for over $7M today and Da Vinci's masterpiece is hanging in a museum in Paris and no, its not because she is priceless, its because real Art lovers need something more mystic and deep they can give whatsoever meaning to not some damn portrait of Lisa Gherandini smiling and staring at me like "Oi! Are you gonna bang though".

No. 6 on my bucketlist; to own a Vincent Van Gogh piece hanging on my wall staring down at my aged body as I breath my last...#RenewedManGoals.

    1. I for one have never understood the major fuss about This Mona Lisa.

And yes! For once I see someone that agrees with me that this pic up there is bland!
      Finally!👍

And honestly, to me,there are far better painters:
Rembrandt,Monet, Goya,Picasso and my favourite of all times, the Genius Michelangelo.

Till today whenever I see the fame and recognition Mona Lisa gets, I subconsciously think that should have Bn any of Michelangelo's famed Work!

His Sistine chapel Art work are Masterpieces!😍😍

    2. Exactly!
He stole it. The fact that he denied knowing his friend in court gave him out. Lol. (hope that's how it happened in the real, cos I'm only about the movie?)

      Hi General's Wife😍
You love the Arts too? A conversation with you over a bottle of Louis XIII or whatever you prefer would be priceless.
Rembrandt's "Girl with a Pearl Earring" is a thousand times better than Mona Lisa, Goya's "Witches In The Air", the genius Michelangelo's "Creation of Man", etc. How can i even forget Salvador Dali's "The Persistence of Memory".

Pipi Lee, Picasso was a bad guy. Art historians would tell you he had a hand in that heist...my Professor at Sotheby back then despised everything Picasso but all that only endeared me to him.

      Greatlady, LOL!
I don't know anything, trust me i go mute when some people I know are having conversations.
You aren't oudated, you only need to read up on a few more stuff even if they appear uninteresting at first...no Knowledge is a waste.
You don't want to be like me.LOL
I have got my many demons.😊

    5. Good morning V and V!😘

Hope you are good bro. And your end too.
Yes I do. My Dad loved the Art. A great deal. And in his spare time would tell us about them(esp those ones I mentioned) They were very boring to us but we sat and listened as he talked for hours on end and showed us pictures.

I am nothing like him when it comes to The Arts(will never be) but I'd love that drink with u.

Where wil you be for Christmas? Europe?
      America?
Let me know so I'll see about that.Ok?😍
