The President left Nigeria for London on May 7 on a medical follow up, leaving the office for Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo.
Independent reports that, though the president has made immense improvements in the last couple of weeks, he has told one of his close aides that if he doesn’t recover by a specific date, he will tender his resignation letter.
According to the newspaper, which reportedly spoke to the Presidential aide, contrary to the views by many, the president is not desperate to cling on to power but he is being advised by doctors to continue with the treatment while Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo presides over the affairs of the nation.
It also reported that though some aides of the president tried to bypass the acting president in order to get to the president, the president directed them to relate with the acting president who is presently in charge of the affairs of the nation.
It quoted the Presidential aide as saying that the fact that the decision of the president to direct all state matters to the acting president has greatly contributed to the remarkable progress the president has made in the last couple of weeks.

ReplyDeleteGet well president Buhari! It's well.
ReplyDeleteI am very sure he means he will resign if he doesnt get better by 2019
ReplyDeleteI dont see this man resigning before then
Truth gradually coming out as 90 days has elapse. Was wondering why/how power can be this intoxicating.
ReplyDeleteHe ought to resign.
May thunder strike him dead already!
DeleteThe worst president In the history of Nigeria... badluck man.
His just trying to buy time that's all.
ReplyDeleteGet well first, and even if you come back as President, retire after this tenure and go back to Kaduna/Daura. Oga, being President of Nigeria is no mean feat - the job hard pass being President of America.
ReplyDeleteYou and your party need not push you into the presidential elections in 2019. With the humongous problems facing Nigeria, we not only need a brilliant President, we want a healthy one, too.
Get well and stay away from politics, Mr.President.
Lol@ " hard pass being president of America "
DeleteIt is well with his health
ReplyDeleteIt's selfishness, greed, revenge that killed that man. Somebody who was diagnosed with postrate cancer in 2011 with his age still hungry for power even though he has nothing to off Nigeria Shows he does not love his life. I doubt if survives that sickness, even one of hands is not functional and if you see his real current picture u will agree with me
ReplyDeleteI've always said if Buhari had any integrity he would resign. The presidency is not the heritage of his father's house. I tend to agree with some people that the sickness is so bad he can't make decisions for himself. Let's put partisan politics aside, let's ask ourselves the difficult questions. Is Buhari's tenuous position the best for Nigeria and Nigerians? Osinbajo has clear visions for Nigeria but because he performed so well and did what his boss could not do in a matter of weeks, they accused him of trying to upstage his boss. They have ordered him to do nothing this time around, they shrunk his powers and are defying him at every turn. Now ask yourself who is being affected most by an absentee president? So should we continue to 2019 like this. Parents are selling their children to have money to eat. The level of poverty and despair has never been experienced in Nigeria's history. Buhari please do the noble thing. Prove to us that Nigeria is first and above the ambitions of your cronies. Posterity will judge You kindly. You will be remembered as the president that put Nigeria first.
ReplyDeleteI thought the constitution says if he is not in office after 90 days, he is to resign?
ReplyDeleteI wish wish him quick recovery.
Get well soon, Mr. President.
ReplyDeleteI feel for him though, going through sickness is not the best position to be in. You won't know this if you are healthy. But for his own interest and Nigeria, it is better for him to resign and take care of himself. As Nigeria is now, even the healthiest man on earth will find it difficult to handle, with the ethnic divisions and the recession going on. So better take the load off your back and take care of your health and live longer for your family.
ReplyDeleteHe told.one of his aides??? Fake news!! Why not tell the Nation??? But you can write and call other people.
ReplyDeleteNigeria cam pray. Tell.people your problem. Be humble and at least have your life back instead of a jazzed Aso rock.
Now let me ask you who believed that Aso Rock is "jazzed".
DeleteAssuming it is , how come most of your politicians are longing to enter a supposedly "jazzed " place by tarnishing one another's image (propaganda). Even the ones that are not fit enough to lead the country want to jump in by all means.
I don't believe that shiii.

It's just that most of them don't go for proper medical check up before assuming any political post.
DeleteSo when the stress become unbearable they succumbed easily.
Stress Stress Stress on its own , kills faster.
Political jobs in Nigeria usually are more tasking than most of you think.
No wonder majority of you believed in the far-fetched theory of Aso Rock being "jazzed"
Africans and black magic are like 5&6 .
