Press Statement on Olugbemiga Abiodun's Demise

The Abiodun family confirms the tragic and regrettable demise of our beloved son, Olugbemiga.

We know there are many questions as to how or why such tragedy would happen to such great individual but still, God is in control.

The past few days have been most trying for the family. We are saddened by his demise but we are comforted by the well wishes and kind thoughts of friends around the world.

Olugbemiga has touched so many people on so many different levels during his short life but few had the pleasure of truly knowing him.

He was a down to earth, generous, kind-hearted, idealist and selfless individual who was extremely inspirational to many.

The family hereby, pleads with the public to disregard insinuations being peddled by certain sections of the media about the actual cause of our son's death.

An official result of the autopsy conducted will be made available as soon as it is ready. Until then, we urge everyone to kindly respect our family’s need to grieve and come to terms with our loss privately.

We remain humble as parents and a family, among several around the world who are bereaved via the tragic loss of a child.

It is never easy to come to terms with the heart-wrenching and enduring agony that accompanies the death of a loved son.

But our family will forever treasure memories of the extremely joyous days spent with Olugbemiga, prior to his demise. Those precious memories will stay with us forever. We are privileged to have some of his amazing, magic moments captured in our hearts.

To everyone who knew him, Olugbemiga was a son and man of immeasurable talent and promise. To those who knew him more personally, he was a consummate artiste and citizen of humanity. We knew him as a devoted son, a loyal and very generous brother and friend.

We treasure the outpouring of grief, empathy and love from unbelievably wonderful network of close friends in Nigeria and from around the world.

Families rarely experience such stirring warmth, compassion and support as have we, from every corner of the planet.

This has profoundly touched our hearts and lives. We are eternally grateful.

At this moment however, we respectfully request the worldwide media to allow us time to grieve privately, without the intrusions associated with press and photography.

  1. RIP Olu. People should stop living irresponsibly.

small boys just left like that. Painful parents will be the ones burying their children instead of the other way.

  2. I hope Madam KOO is reading this! Stupid woman with mental issues. Insinuating so many rubbish just to remain relevant and to implicate innocent people. A fool at 50.

  5. I feel for them. Burying a child is the hardest thing any parent will go through.
I won't believe that story of drugs found on them till I see hard evidence.
Fear naija police. Was the crime scene even secured on time. Anyone could have planted anything before police even came.
It's a pity, but I won't judge till I true picture through autopsy is revealed.
That is how they lifted tagbos supposed autopsy from Google.

    1. Exactly patiently waiting for the real result. People don't know how they will die or what people will say about them when they are dead, Cus we must all die one day but the most important thing is to say something true or don't say anything at all so that God will not hold it against you, people on this blog keep saying they lived recklessly, they died of this and that, one even said we should hold unto the first news until we get another. We could all have died at a certain time but for the grace of God. Can anyone say they never attended any parties, what if your drink was spiked. Let's just wait on the official gist before we comment

  9. All of you here claiming he died of drugs as if you were there. Pls respect his family. And let them mourn in peace. I am not ruling out that they indulge in youth exuberance. But as of last week, DjOlu was about to embark on his 6th business venture. He completed the plumbing and was about to erect the rest of his structure for his new car wash business in front of his dad's Heyden petrol station. This would be his 6th business venture that I am aware of.

    1. & 2. He runs his dad's heyden oil company and private club (not nightclub, it has bar, restaurant and etc),
    3. he owns a nightclub called Vapor, 4. he does DJing + event/show planner & host,
    5. he owns a vehicle upgrade (engineering) company,
    6. and he was about to start his car wash.

It is all there on his social media. He documents his business journey on snapchat and IG. He started his nightclub Vapor in a small space on Lagos island, when the club started doing well, he moved to Victoria Island. On his snapchat I saw him start his dad's first petrol station in Gbagada. From building the structure to completion, to him even running it so successfully that they opened another on the island.

He also helped with the management of the building construction, interior design, launching of his dad's private club on the island after the petrol station started business. Amidst this he was also DJing for his own club, his artist/label boss (Davido), running up and down to the airport to receive his imported car parts or going to the mainland to purchase car parts and engines from the places they are sold. He didn't mind getting dirty. The places I saw him go via his snapchat to get his stuffs where very muddy, dirty, had bad roads and etc. But this guy is always work. He just go about his job cheerfully.

The only vices he had shown on his snapchat is that he drinks alcohol and smokes cigaretettes. He is just himself. You can tell that's who he is, it is a part of him. It is same way average people (oyinbo) abroad drink and smoke. It is a lifestyle. It doesn't make them a bad person or part of a "bad gang".

When he wants to relax, he goes to his apartment to play games on his TV that he put on a small makeshift table. He was very down to earth, playful, caring towards people around him and even humble towards the security that follows him around. The security makes it easy for him to beat traffic and get as many job done in a day. From errands on the island, to office management and supervision, to traveling for conferences to running to office/boardroom meetings. He is always on the move most of the time.

If you stay off snapchat for a while and get back on, you will see him there still working! Always working. He hardly rest. And as of last week, even I was worried about this guy. Just after he excitedly showed the completion of his plumbing and talked about his plans for his new car wash and where it is located. He went to fix up some vehicles including two white vans. He showed the entire process, from purchasing the parts, to stripping the vehicles and reconstructing it. He even removed the seats in the vans so it can become more like a delivery van. And he went to deliver those two vans in Ibadan. He got there so late, around past 11pm.

  10. By 11am the next day, he was in Lagos. He stated how tired he was. And he did look exhausted. He told his followers that he left Ibadan around 3am and he slept in his car. I was like this is too much. He needs to rest. He went about his business (to supervise his business) and discovered someone/people went to destroy his plumbing. This is showed. You can see someone has smashed the concrete floor over his plumbing. The concrete were scattered all over the place.

He was now speaking calmly, determined and directly to his phone via snap, saying whoever damaged his plumbing, he will start over, do a new plumbing, start his new car wash business and he will be successful at it. That there is nothing they can do. He will successfully get his business started. I didn't see it as anything serious. I just thought he upset because it is a setback for him. I have never seen him talk like that. But I did wonder why would ankle do and damage his plumbing overnight.

A day later, he was with his police escort, telling us about how his car was vandalised or someone was trying to vandalised it during the night. This happened in a different location. I didn't follow the whole thing. I had things to do. So I left snapchat for days. I had just eventually went to my snapchat on Saturday. Watching his last few snaps before I was told he died. In his last few snaps, he looked exhausted. He was driving. Didn't look intoxicated or high or anything. After hearing the news, I just couldn't believe it, like I just watched him few minutes before, I quickly went back to watch the old snaps (which were about 3 hours old as at the time I think) again, they were gone.

I don't know what happened to him. I am not saying there was foul play. But please try not to diminish this hard working guy's legacy. He has worked so hard. Even his last post on IG, he captioned it that he is working so hard now, so he can enjoy and rest some day in the future. Unfortunately, he won't be able to enjoy his hard labour. But I know he is with God resting.

I feel sorry for his family, he was a very gentle and brilliant guy. So promising. He had achieved a lot at his age. And he was still hungry for more progress. He strives and thrives; even though his family are well off, he builds for himself and continue to. I feel sorry for all his personal staffs. He has many for both his nightclub and his car business. If his dad or family may choose not to continue those businesses, they will be out of jobs. Yes, guys. He is an employer! Very hard working guy. Very focused. He won't just wake up and decide to waste all his hard work by indulging on drugs to the extent of overdose. Especially when he just about to start a new business.

We plan, but God disposes. Sun 're o, Oluwagbemiga. Olorun a te e si afefe rere. May God forgive you and Chime of all your sins and give you eternal rest.

P.S. please, excuse my typos. I always read in silence. But I just can't take anymore of all these speculations and watch people tarnish his image. He didn't even know I exist but he inspired me. And still does. We all have to remember, it is good to work hard, but the body also needs rest and God has final say on everything. It isn't by our hard work or effort, but by God's grace our effort is fruitful and enjoyable. May God forgive us all of our sins and grant us good health and long life to enjoy our hard labour.

    2. This is touching but people should minimize how they show off their success on sm even if it is a form of advertisement it should be done wisely. I don't subscribe to showing my self on sm bc you don't who your haters are. Only God knows what happened to him and i won't judge bc i know nothing about him. May he find eternal rest if truely their is.

  12. In 2003, Davido's mother, Dr Imade Adeleke, died suddenly, on her husband's 40th birthday. She had just returned from her husband's Thanksgiving service in Church. Died in her room, mysteriously-please Google this information. When Davido produced "Skelewu", 2 of his Directors lost their not sick/old fathers. Davido built a house for Utibe, his young fan who sang "If", same period, the boy's mother died, the kids are now orphans. Within a week, Davido loses 3 friends, mysteriously. Even if Tagbo was alcohol/drugs, what killed DJ Olu and Chime, SIMULTANEOUSLY It is well...nothing is hidden from God.

  14. There are many angles to this very sad incident. Olu rest in perfect peace. It is strange that Abi KD’s boyfriend in 2012 was found dead in mysterious circumstances, she was the last person to see him alive, rumour then was that she encouraged his drug over dose, mansalauter. But of course it was covered up!!! Now 2017 another Ajimobi Daughter was dating this young man also found dead in mysterious circumstances. There’s something about the Adeleke (Davido) and Ajimobi families that is hidden.

    1. Rumour mongers.
Abi-kd got married in either 2010 or 2011 to kolapo kolaDaisi. Her first son should be about 6 or so. So pls tell me how she was dating adeola Randolph in 2012.
Adeola died of a very serious asthma attack they cldnt manage in the hospital he was rushed to. Everyone knows he had serious asthma.
She and Adeola broke up probably since 2008 before she now met her hubby and got married. He was her ex when he died and she was already married. But she was still friends with his sister.
I know the parties involved. Don't come and start peddling conspiracy theories you don't know.
Let the boy rest in peace.
      Thank you

  15. Nov 23, 2012 – Oyo Governor Ajimobi’s Daughter, Bisola In Murder Scandal Over Adeola Randolph, Her Ex-Lover’s Death

The daughter of the present Governor of Oyo State (Governor Abiola Ajimobi), Bisola is currently in a very messy scandal involving her ex-lover, Adeola Randolph who passed away in the early hours of February 7, 2012. www.naijagists.com

According to a report from National Enquirer Magazine, late Adeola Randolph family sources said it took them forever to discover Bisola’s involvement in the sudden death of her former lover because the influential Ajimobi family have allegedly been pressing buttons to sweep the case under the carpet.

According to National Enquirer investigation, Abisola who got married to another man two years ago was spotted sneaking into her ex-lover’s flat without her husband’s consent a night before his death.

Though her ex-lover battled asthma occasionally, the security guard at Adeola’s Magodo house revealed that Bisola sneaked in that fateful evening and left few hours later, only to find out that his boss, Adeola had died the following morning.
