Kogi State Government Commissions GIS To Track Criminals

The state governor, Yahaya Bello, who commissioned it yesterday, said the launch of KOGIS will move the state away from the inefficient era of analogue
system of land documentation to a computerised land administration system that will increase the channels of service delivery to the public through modern ICT tools. He said the GIS will also aid in the tracking of kidnappers, robbers and other criminal hideouts.

Bello lamented that the state had, over the years, lost significant revenue due to the inefficient manual processes, inadequate infrastructure framework and analogue system of land documentation and record keeping.

He said with the launch of KOGIS, all property owners were expected to re-certify their Certificates of Occupancy, Cs of O, where they existed, while holders of Right of Occupancy, R of O, are to obtain the secured C of O.

GIS should start in the governor's office, & with the governor.

GIS isn't cheap, he would rather waste money on rubbish than pay civil servants. Shame on you sir. You & Dino dog.
