Alleged Husband Killer Maryam Sanda Granted Bail

An FCT High Court has granted bail to Maryam Sanda, who allegedly killed her husband, Bilyamin Bello.

Mr. Bello was a son to a former chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Haliru Bello.

Ms. Sanda was granted bail by the judge, Yusuf Halilu, based on medical reports which indicate she is pregnant and ill.

She has been facing trial on allegations of homicide for the alleged killing of her husband and had been denied bail on at least two occasions.

    4. There is no place for sympathy in the law. If the deceased was your relative would you still pity her? Stabbing someone to death takes a certain amount of anger. She could have controlled herself. I feel sorry for her child but I have no pity for her.

  3. A pregnant woman that was fighting her husband till she stabbed and killed him.
Even if she never serves time for the crime, the explanation she will give to her kids in the future is punishment itself. I pray the soul of her husband continues to haunt her.
You kill another humanbeing just because of alleged infidelity.
if all Nigerian women do that, perhaps half of men will be gone.

  18. Nobody should blame her please. She alone knows what pushed her. She wont just wake up one morning and decide to kill the one she loves. Some men can be frustrating and drive one crazy.

  19. Stella, because you probably don't suffer morning sickness in your pregnancy doesn't make you judge and jury over another woman's own. I don't support her getting bail or even her killing her husband but do not belittle morning sickness please. Some women don't have it easy AT ALL. Some of you blog visitors who came here to write how you were hospitalized during your pregnancy are also here doing follow follow "cos stella said so".

  20. Truth is even if they kill her, the man won't come back. Domestic violence is all shades of wrong. Leave while alive.

  25. It says BAIL not end of trial. Meaning the case is not over. She will have to appear to court till a verdict is made, which then conclude if she is guilty or not guilty.

    ReplyDelete
  26. We forget the main issue here. For those who don't know, Murder is not a bailable offence.

Only in Nigeria, will the Law be so desecrated.
