EFCC Recovers N216m From Online Investment Fraudsters

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has recovered a total of N216,402,565.05 (Two Hundred and Sixteen Million, Four Hundred and Two Thousand, Five Hundred Sixty Naira, Five Kobo) only from Swiss Golden Investment, an online investment that purportedly deals in buying and selling of Gold Bars.

The recovery was sequel to a petition the Commission received from thousands of complainants who alleged that they invested in Swiss Golden Investment which was advertised as an online investment that deals with buying and selling of Gold Bars.

The petitioner further alleged that after investing over a billion naira into the business, the company refused to pay them any dividend or pay them back their capital. Upon receipt of the petition, the Commission invited the petitioners and they volunteered statements.

Through intelligence, the Commission picked up one Maxim Lobaty, a Russian and two Nigerians: Austin Emenike and Dickson Nonso Onuchukwu in Lagos.

The trio were subsequently conveyed to the Kano operational zone of the EFCC for further investigation. Swiss Golden which is headquartered in Hong Kong was discovered through investigation to be a Ponzi scheme that was designed to defraud innocent victims of their hard earned money.

After being drilled at the Commission's Kano Zonal Office, Maxim and his co-suspects consented to the refund of the investment. Subsequently, a total sum of N216, 402,565.05 (Two Hundred and Sixteen Million, Four Hundred and Two Thousand, Five Hundred Sixty Five Naira) only have now been recovered.

However, while the investigation was on going, it was discovered that, Swiss Golden Company Limited has defrauded over seven thousand Nigerians to the tune of over N3,000,000,000 (Three Billion Naira) only.

Investigation into the alleged fraud is still ongoing and all efforts are being made to recover the money involved and the alleged suspects be brought to justice.

  7. We all went to bed last night with the sad and malicious publication by EFCC attempting to paint Swissgolden as a fraudulent Company.

    Are the allegations true?
    Yes and No.

We already know that despite the fact that Swissgolden is a legitimate gold trading company operating in over 190 Countries for over 5 years, some unscrupulous and greedy elements in Nigeria tried to twist the Business Model and turn it into a ponzi scheme.

A particular lady purported to be an Emir's daughter in Kano, Swindled thousands of people of their hard-earned money amounting to several millions of naira using this ponzi model. She promised them heaven and earth but never registered them as partners of Swissgolden. She eventually absconded to Dubai where she is currently hiding.

In November, 2017 during the Company's International Conference in Lagos, the International Director of Sales and the newly appointed National Directors were arrested by EFCC as an attempt to get through to the Company Management.

We all know how the justice system works in Nigeria...the EFCC saw an avenue to 'milk' the Company and got away with a payment of over N200million just to secure the release of these men.

Since then, the EFCC has continued to harrass and intimidate partners of Swissgolden especially the Country Directors who are innocent of any wrongdoing until they were sued by the affected parties and this infuriated them and motivated them to post the 'stale gist' on their social media handles.

This is clearly subjudice as the case is already in a court of law but we know how the Agency operates with impunity. However, the case is being handled legally and a rejoinder will follow shortly.

We call on all the partners of Swissgolden to remain calm and go about their business with integrity.

    *Remember;*
    - Swissgolden is NOT a scam
    - Swissgolden is over 5 years old
    - Swissgolden is operating in over 190 Countries around the world

    - Swissgolden has a tangible product: 24 Karat Gold. (Interstingly, they are not the only Gold company operating in Nigeria. Why are the others not also labelled as a Ponzi?)

    - Swissgolden is duly registered in Nigeria with 2 Representative Offices in Lagos and Port Harcourt
    - In 2017 alone, Swissgolden held 2 International Conferences in Nigeria: Abuja in March, and Lagos in November
    - Swissgolden has one of the most lucrative Compensation plans but sadly this has been abused by Nigerians. But this DOES NOT make the company a SCAM!

Further information concerning Swissgolden can be obtained from their website www.swissgolden.com or through a google search

  10. But my question is "Is ponzi scheme duly registered in Nigeria? because I know that swissgolden is a legally registered business in with this number 1412093 in the Nigerian corporate trade and business commission. Then if it ponzi those who give them the license to operate should be held responsible. Lol
