The Prosecutor, Sgt. Maria Dauda, told the Ebute Meta court that the 47 year old accused committed the offence on June 15 around 7.00 pm
She said that the accused slapped his wife, Hope who was 42, which resulted in her death.
The offence contravened Section 224 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Section 224 stipulates death sentence for murder.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs A.O. Ajibade, remanded Imafidon in Ikoyi Prisons and ordered that the case file be sent to the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.
Ajibade adjourned the case until Sept. 3

Some people this woman may have complained to may have told her endure it would pass. Now she has been slapped to her death. It is far better to be a single mother than to die early.
