A controversy ensued on social media during the week when a radio presenter, Misi Molu, had stated during an interview that she preferred Yemi Alade as a singer with better vocal range than Tiwa Savage, who, in her opinion always shouts instead of singing...
During that same interview, Yemi also said that she doesn’t believe there is a ‘number one’ artiste in Africa as the top acts were all doing well and could fill the same concert venues.
Days after a recording of the interview was posted online, Tiwa Savage made a series of posts to insinuate that Misi Molu had earlier begged her for money via social media shortly before airing her views about her talent.
However, in a chat with Sunday Scoop, Misi Molu tasked Tiwa Savage to provide proof that she begged her for money. Reacting to Savage’s posts, she said, “Personally, I don’t believe she was talking about me. But if she is, she needs to show evidence to that fact. The situation has been blown way out of proportion than what the intentions of the discussion were actually meant to be. People are giving it way too much credence.”
On the propriety of comparing both artistes, especially when Yemi was in the studio with her, Imolu said, “The type of industry we are in; we are constantly faced with comparison. For example, I have a colleague I’m constantly compared to at work. I did my job by showing my personality as an on air personality. The only problem is that some people do not agree with my opinion and that’s fine.”
Meanwhile, in a chat with Sunday Scoop, Yemi Alade refused to comment on her comparism with Tiwa Savage but she maintained her stance that there was no number one artiste in the country.
Speaking through her manager, Taye Aliyu, she said, “All of the top artistes in the country are blessed by God and they are all doing well in their respective ways. We don’t always have to compare artistes because they have their individual uniqueness. Yemi is always focused on her craft; she doesn’t have time for rivalry.

*Hmmmm looks like there is rivalry already...Misi didnt do well at all..I mean its OK to say your piece of mind but not when doing so in comparism with the one who is your friend and the one who isnt.......it wasnt done well.EOD

No news here o
ReplyDeleteArtists in Naija have been giving OAP money tee tee to air their songs. So make them share that beef carry am do suya chop.
Na them sabi. Na money I dey find.
DeleteMiso is just a careless bitch. She is always so insensitive whenever she wants to form blunt. She’s even worse off air. Since she married hat dude her bitchiness has been raised to power 100.
ReplyDeleteAnd Yemi is also an idiot. They’re running your colleague in a bid to hype you and you’re saying merci beacoup abi how do they spell it. That just reeks of envy. Instead of you women to be planning collabos like your male counterparts you’re blushing to them saying Tiwa shouts. Tiwa that was a back up singer to Beyoncé before she returned to Nigeria. Who reached semifinals of some musical talent show abroad is the one who can’t sing but shouts? What a wow.
If I were Tiwa I would have just ignored the duo to their provoking rants and continue counting my money and nurturing my baby. But no, she just had to go ratchet and act pained. God should just give her a good manager.
Your last bit is very very correct. Tiwa should have ignored. Obviously it pained her and yes she is very ratchet.
DeleteTIWA HAS NEVER BEEN A BACKGROUND SINGER FOR BEYONCÉ. SHE WAS MARY JBLIGE BACKGROUND SINGER. Get your facts straight and stop lying just to hype Tiwa. You think everybody can be Beyoncé background singer? And if she was don't you think she would have made sure everyone knew? Liar liar pants on fire.
Delete@15:33 I think @13:00 was mixing up Tiwa and Seyi shay on the whole 'beyonce' thing. Na Seyi been dey with Bey papa, small.
DeleteAnon 13:10 is right on the Beyonce part. His or her fact is actually right.
DeleteAnonymous 15:33, cool down nah. Na so the thing pain you reach? The one wey crack me up is the "Liar liar pants on fire" 😂😂😂😂😂😂 fear God ooo. U still dey preschool ni cos you sound like my 4yr old that says that 😂😂😂😂😂😂
DeleteChange starts from us. There was a context in what mosi or worreva said. Some people are just not blessed to be able to sing live the way they sing in studio. Fact. Rihanna is a prime example, so is Tiwa. Someone like Beyonce, Sia and Mariah Carey of before even enhance their live performances. Its not a terrible thing, they all still have great stage presence. So in that regard molus is right. Yemi alade of recent has been singing a lot of tinko tinko crap, but that was NOT the context of the convo. It was about singing live. Make we de reason for all aspects of our lives o. Na him go hep naija better. Selah
DeleteKo Kan aye
ReplyDelete😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤷, end of discussion Eka Joy.
DeleteWho's misi?
ReplyDeleteOAP
Delete😂😂😂😂😂😂😂, you people will not kee someone with lafta on this blog 😂😂😂😂😂
DeleteI think the comparism was totally unnecessary especially on air. Comon, that's all shade of wrong and could create unnecessary rivalry.
ReplyDeleteSha, Tiwa ddnt call names
Shes not talking about you. Stop sounding like a Ding bat *In Papa Freezer’s voice*
ReplyDeleteEverything is a shade/sub in Nigeria. Soenone cannot post in peace.

ReplyDeleteTisa didn't call your name aunty, but you running someone else down didnt it make your opinion right. To me Yemi should have shut her up immediately.
ReplyDeleteWhere did she say tiwa mentioned her name? Are we reading same post?
DeleteThey'll be fine jare.
ReplyDeleteDrama everywhere
ReplyDeleteNa dem sabi
ReplyDeleteTiwa is actually not grounded vocally. Watch her perform live on stage and you would be disappointed. Their wahala. BV Viola
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, any musical person knows that fact
DeleteTiwa na vocalist?
DeleteAbegi forget all that noise she dey make, her voice is terrible.
The truth is bitter.
ReplyDeleteTiwa is better artist/writer than Yemi because obviously Tiwa attended one of the most prestigious music schools in the world and worked extensively with international artists, so she has more experience and exposure.
However, TIWA CANNOT, and I repeat, CANNOT, SING TO SAVE HER LIFE!
Have you heard her live?
Gosh!
Atrocious!
That is why I always get so annoyed when people compare Tiwa to Beyonce.
BISH WHERE?!
I saw Beyonce live at the O2 in 2009. Saw her again at Wembley during the FWT in 2016. And when people say Beyonce live is an experience, believe me, it's not an exaggeration!
Trust me, the woman sounds angelic live! Not to mention the way she combined it with dancing for 2 hours + without going off key. THAT is a singer!
I used to hype Tiwa when she first came out because Kele Kele love was my jam. With how sweet and silky her voice sounds on records, I thought she would sound good live.
Hmmm! To this day, I REGRET wasting money on tickets to see her. TF! Lipsynching, out of breath within a short time and she sounded nothing like she does on her records.
Meanwhile I've heard Omawumi live and she sounded incredible!
Tiwa is extremely overrated.
Them go dey alright last last
ReplyDeleteBeeni, am telling you 🤷
