    1. I don't agree. That's a stiff protruding slab of flesh there, I can't call it a curve.
If you're going to get surgery (I have nothing against it) get the most natural looking surgery available. It has to look like a part of your body not a stuck on addition.

  14. Ruth’s eyebrows be like bird wey wan take off, flapping their wings. Who did this to her Biko.
These news hips on Toke, were they surgically enhanced or artificially enhanced. Didn’t know she was hungry to acquire hips like the others. Not looking so good on her. I think I prefer her former look to this.
Ebube, we don’t know which one to concentrate on? Your skirt is conflicting with the beauty of the shoes. We need to focus on one naa. Both are fine but would have been finer if...

  27. Ladies, may I just say something. I feel deeply saddened by the advent of this surgical enhancement era. I'm not here to advocate religion or any of the sort but what are we really doing to ourselves all in the name of keeping up with the joneses.we now allow strangers to cut and suck out and inject our bodies up, what makes you different from those kadavas used in teaching hospitals. Where is the respect for our bodies? I know some of you are going to say oh but we get surgery done when we have life threatening issues but are we really going to compare the preservation of life to getting such. We all know that if you aren't a married woman with body esteem issues after a couple of kids and thus going under the knife then most likely you are doing so because you are runs girl or an aspiring runs girl and you must not carry last.your body is your office. And that's just pathetic. It's even more pathetic that girls like toke put up religious quotes on their instagram as if their real intent is not to sleep with our husbands and our daddies. In that her charade of her book did she not tell us her ex drove her to bleaching her skin due to low self esteem issues so aunty becoming who is causing your sub-zero self esteem this time? Whose daddy is it now? You are supposed to be some kind of role model to a lot of girls and you go and do this? Well it's the women looking up to you that I blame! Unfortunately your husband did you bad because he knew the cheap slut he made a wife and could not get over the fact you used your so called public persona to talk him into wifing you. And here you are proving that he made the right decision! ladles, don't tow this path.once a man, a nigerian man, knows you have done this type of body work, they can never take you seriously. You will only be a play thing for them to spend their loose change on till they find the next cheap thrill to throw coins out - oh yes because that inflated ass gets boring as with every other material thrill. Don't think you're gonna be a Kim kardashian West here. That whole black culture appropriation thing is disrespectful to us black women and we copying the trend as black women is confusing on another level and shows we are still slaves to these masters. Grow yourselves women! There is a light within us that can burn much brighter than any augmentation can! We have more power than we think. If a man ignores you and chases after some bimbo then he isn't yours. Stop chasing what isn't yours ladies. We can all learn to let our light shine. Love to all the secure women out there. Till next time my loves !

    1. Lolll, I'm not a runs girl.

I'm mainstream corporate but I would do surgery in a minute if I could.
Not every one is happy with popcorn breasts or letter 1 hips.
Some people want more flesh so they fill out clothes better and generally be more attractive to their eyes when they look in the mirror.
Not everyone is defined by the greasy reality shows you watch.

If you could lift you head outta your fart filled sanctimonious anus and allow yourself to understand dissenting views you would see that:

This isn't a competition with anybody.
This isn't about doing things to join the hype.

It's about finding alternatives that make one happy and taking them and not being afraid of smelling' sanctimonious, snot filled hypocrites like you, always eager to define what a woman should not do, when their whole lives existence can't even be utilised as a disposable pacifier.

As for the Nigerian men you referred to 'tossing coins' and all.
      Loll.
Not every woman aspires to marry a Nigerian man. If you've never had anything better, those greasy, scaly skinned, potbellied clowns with primitive mentalities would seem like a catch.

Some of us aspire for waaaaaay better.

    2. Hi Toke! It’s clear this hit you the wrong way but sadly YOU ARE A RUNS GIRL and the whole Lagos ( I say Lagos as that’s really the extent of your reach) knows that. Mainstream corporate? Lol ! Going to to pan ocean to pick up the occasional check from uncle fadeyi does not qualify as being in the corporate world sweetie. Let’s be real with ourselves here, you’re not wishing for surgery for any such thing. Everyone is unhappy with their body in some form because of the media’s portrayal of what beauty is. And that portrayal is everywhere not just just in trash tv. You’re a tool darling and that’s all you can only ever be. A tool to deceive and blind the masses.

Getting surgery cannot satisfy or remedy your insecurities. Because the sickness is from within you. Once you fix your popcorn breasts and flat Nyash you are going to find something else to fix. Perhaps a nose job, lip fillers or whatever else one day you decide isn’t commensurate to the Beauty standards of today’s world. Fix yourself from within first and let us know whether you will still get surgery done in a heartbeat! Lol !

    3. I think anon 9.07 messed up when she referred to Nigerian men as pot bellied and scaly skinned. That’s the catch of a runs girl because there are loads of amazing Nigerian men out there who do not fit into this criteria.

    4. "Unfortunately your husband did you bad because he knew the cheap slut he made a wife"... are you for real? A married man cheats on his wife, goes on to have a baby with his ex and this is what you have to say? Please who was the 'cheap slut' in the marriage? Toke or Maje?

"could not get over the fact you used your so called public persona to talk him into wifing you." ...oh please. A 42 year old man cannot make his own decisions? She talked him into what? Are you for real? Please stop making excuses for him, he's old enough. He should have been faithful to his vows.

The nerve of y'all Nigerian women to constantly blame women even when it was the man who broke the marriage vows. To constantly think that women live, breathe and exist for men. You start out so religiously and there in the middle there is name calling and accusations thrown at Toke whom you don't personally know. I am not for body surgery too but make your point better. Women don't live solely for men, to be taken seriously by men. They too need to behave better, to be taken seriously by us. :)

    5. I need to respond to Olori Tobi as you have presented an alternate view worthy of deliberation and respectful deliberation at that. I totally agree that Maje has been portrayed as a dog and that at that age he needed to be responsible for his actions but let's not forget who Toke Makinwa is and has really been for a long time. There really is no smoke without fire in relation to the Pa Fadeyi scandal. I am not holding men in higher regard but men know the women they are about to marry and men are more logical in the reasons they choose to marry certain women. I'm saying Maje knew who he was marrying and the reasons he eventually went ahead with the marriage.

Now, I'm all for engaging in feminist discourse and what not but let's not excuse the behavior of bad women because we are trying to be feminists. A bad woman is a bad woman. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not referring to her as a bad woman but of recent she has been displaying questionable traits. I'm just not a fan of hypocrisy. After reading her book I really wanted to like her. I wanted to be on her team. I felt bad for her when she let on the reasons she bleached and I loved it when she spoke of finding God and her strength from God. I really believed all of that. Then the scandals started and now this surgery? I thought she had found herself in God and no longer needed validating from man. Not only is she in support of women enhancing their bodies for the pass time of men, but it also wreaks of serious insecurity and low self esteem issues. Let's call a spade a spade. You are right when you said women don't live solely for men and shouldn't but direct that remark at the right party. If you think the Brazilian butt lift is done amongst most nigerian women for reasons other than for the viewing or playtime pleasure of men then chile! We are gonna need a reality check here. I was speaking mostly from the perspective of the current subject matter and not generally but it is a growing epidemic. I'm not a feminist but I'm all about the potential that lies in each human being - man and woman- and I'm aware of the impact some of these social media influencers have on the general public.
