Hello all. Please I will need your advice. I feel so down. Pls I need constructive criticism. I have two girls a 4yr old and a 10month old. I just found out am four months pregnant. I was really hoping to be a boy maybe like a compensation. Just today I found out it is a girl. I cried. Not a happy cry a sad cry. Please it’s just a personal thing not wanting to make those with girls feel bad. Right now am on the process of termination and my head is just full. I married a virgin I don’t know why I can’t have a boy.
JESUS!!!...So if its a boy he lives and because its a girl,she has to be terminated?Probably because you are under pressure to birth a son?Too shocked to say anything...what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

They say all work and no play makes Oluchi a dull girl. Lol
The days of sway(don't know if I got the spelling right), ten-ten and playing hide and seek have been replaced with games which one can easily install from the different stores online into our smart devices. These games help us unwind after a stressful day, pass time when we have nothing to do and also impart knowledge.
I've downloaded quite a few but didn't go far before I got stuck and I had no choice but to uninstall them.
The only game that has me hooked right now is Wordscapes. I used to think I had a good knowledge of the English language till I started playing this game. It has made me realise I still have a long way to go. The game is not only fun, it's challenging and educative at the same time.
In five months, I've played the game from Sunrise(level 1) to Frost (White, Level 1612). I've collected 2000 coins on standby and before the 25th of every month I've finished playing the daily game, earning the 20,50,100 and 500 coins.
I don't just play it for fun alone, I also use my dictionary to check out new words and their meanings. On a particular level I found out that 'salami' is an English word which can also describe our Nigerian 'Kilishi'. Did you just exclaim, what!!!
I did too when I saw it.

ReplyDeleteIndians celebrated DIWALI the other day and the ones in my neighborhood celebrated with fireworks/firecrackers (banger/knockout in Nigerian English).
Thank God I can now differentiate the difference between that and Gunshot so I slept like a baby all through their celebration.
Throwback to when I was in Warri."Boys" were obtaining people once upon a December.The Businesses + Banks in my area suffered a lot in the hands of this boys.
They terrorised the area so much that people lived in fear.I stay close to the road so I always heard "gunshot" especially one morning one bank was robbed infact I was bathing when the shoot out started and I was shivering even though bathing with hot water ni oo🙈.
All this happenings continued in the new year especially with the subsidy strike that year.I remember one night I heard "gunshot" and ran into my closet and laid on the ground.Infact I heard "gunshot" all through that week and I told my uncle that I was done staying in Warri cos I was scared.He laughed and said it's not true that it's probably knockout.Whosai,I packed my kaya and 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️.

I used to have painful menstruation but now, if not for the blood in the pad, I don't even noticeim on my period anymore.
Sometimes it happens to me but mine is usually when I inhale odour of a fuel in the car. Though I don't throw up but I usually spit out if I sit close to the window to ease the struggle of throwing up. But the one I find difficult to control is that, I can't read books, newspaper or even browse on a moving vehicle. The moment I try doing that, I usually feel a slight headache and discomfort in the eye regions.

So I'm here this afternoon for the single ladies, about to be married, or newly married. I'm going anonymous because I don't want people associating this with my ID.
ReplyDeleteI just had a miscarriage, 10 weeks pregnancy. My blood rhesus factor is O-ve, always known this as a child, and being a medical practitioner I already knew I had to be fully prepared should I get married to an O+ve man, which I did. To the crux of my story, I've been in the hospital for 2 days now, and there has been no blood group matching test carried out. I already know that I was going to need 'Rhogam' injection should a miscarriage or childbirth take place so I have been sounding it to the doctors. It just occurred to me that these people would have discharged me home without administering this injection if I hadn't made mention of it (negligence I guess), that's disaster waiting to happen.
To all ladies out there, please KNOW YOUR BLOOD GROUP; and if you are O-ve and married or procreate with an O+ve man, make sure you keep reminding them of Rhogam injection once you deliver your 1st child, or have an abortion, or a miscarriage. Not doing this would lead to subsequent miscarriages. TO BE FOREWARNED IS TO BE FOREARMED.

ReplyDeleteBut this is what they don't understand it is the girls who stand up stronger for the parents in the end. Even the Bible says a man will leave his home and cleave to his wife, lots of these boys don't give af about parents once they marry. I see my grandmother who birth six boys and now that she is frail they don't do anything for her, even as close as they live within a 20 minutes walk from her home they don't even visit her weekly, no food hamper, no birthday cheer, no nothing. It is the daughters who look out for her wellbeing. What if she had only sons. Even I am childless and my siblings have young families, if there is any situation with my parents it is me who is able to help them out, because my siblings are not able to just rush off as easily. Aborting a child based solely on gender just seems wrong on every level, especially when you are a woman yourself and deciding that a girl is not worthy enough to live. The patriarchal mindset has really done a number on women, that so many women from all different nations and cultures see their kind as being of a lesser value than men. What a life when you body is little more than a vending machine and you are a robot to the culture.

What people don't know is that at old age, ladies tend to care more for their parents than boys. Girls are wonderful, caring mothers. Pls be happy and embrace that pregnancy, love your child. I have even heard testimonies of scans failing. A lady mentioned some time ago about aborting a pregnancy because scan revealed to be a girl. And after doing D n C, she realised the foetus was actually a boy she had been hoping for. She regretted aborting the pregnancy. I am not saying yours might be a boy but I am telling you to appreciate God's gift. A lot of people out there are praying for a child and you got this on a platter of gold. I hope you reconsider your decision. You have had just 2 girls, you don't know maybe after this child, you will have a boy next. Pls if you decide to keep, pls love the child.
I have several friends who have been waiting for years for babies. I find it heart breaking to read about wanting to terminate a baby just because of gender. We make life so difficult for ourselves in this part of the world. Pressure to get married,pressure to have children,pressure to have a male child too. Why are you pressured?
