Informed sources told The Eagle Online that the pipeline exploded at about 1am owing to the activities of vandals.
So far, fighter fighters involved in battling the explosion have expended five tankers of water without being able to fully contain it.
four other persons are wounded and had been taken to an undisclosed hospital.
As at press time, the fire was still raging, with houses behind Tantalizers, Wema Bank and former Mobil/Mr. Biggs at Abule Egba on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway being consumed very fast.
Several vehicles have also been burnt.
The fire has spread spread to Agric Junction in Abattoir area of in Agege.
Policemen, operatives of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Corps, Lagos State Fire Service and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency are at the scene of the incident.
All because of money,they have little or no value fr human life... this is so saddening
