Buhari’s Camp Reveals How Atiku Got American Visa

The Buhari Media Organisation, BMO, has revealed how specially recruited and heavily paid American lobbyists facilitated the US trip of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

According to BMO, the trip would not remove the fact that Atiku was indicted by a congressional report that named him in a money laundering case.

The BMO statement was signed by its Chairman, Niyi Akinsiju and Secretary, Cassidy Madueke on Friday.

It said, “The former Vice President’s eventual entry into the country after a 12-year travel ban cannot negate the US Congressional report that named him in one of four notorious cases of money laundering in the world.

It added: “The 2010 report entitled ‘Keeping foreign corruption out of the US’ clearly linked the convicted American Congressman Williams Jefferson to Atiku Abubakar who was described as ‘a high-ranking official in Nigeria’s executive branch who had a spouse in Potomac, Maryland’ in a bribery scheme meant to influence business contracts with African countries

“It also noted that Atiku’s fourth wife, Jennifer Douglas Abubakar helped her husband bring over $40m in suspect funds into the US including at least $1.7m in bribe payments from Siemens AG, a German corporation, and over $38m from little known offshore corporations.

“Jefferson and Siemens who were technically the former Vice President’s co-conspirators in the deal were convicted and Jefferson went to jail while his sealed indictment had been intact since 2010.

“It is a fact that the US President Donald Trump with his ‘America First’ mantra has not been too comfortable with Africa’s booming relations with China with Nigeria as arrowhead and may be willing to do business with anyone that will boost his country’s interest even to the detriment of their own country.

“The world has seen how Trump had been reluctant to take a hard-line stance against Saudi Arabia over ‘Kashoggi murder’ because of his close business link with Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman,” it said

The group said it was not surprised by the visit as it had revealed in November last year that the PDP and its Presidential candidate had secured the services of Brian Ballard, a US lobbyist with close links to President Donald Trump, to facilitate the entry visa for millions of dollars.

“We said back then that even if Trump’s friend convinced the US authorities to clear the path for Atiku to finally enter the US, it won’t clear the former Vice President of the corruption scandals that have over the years stuck to him.”

*ATIKU ABUBAKAR ARRESTED IN THE USA* 🇺🇸

The presidential flag bearer of the PDP in next month's presidential election has been arrested in the USA. Atiku who embarked on a short visit to the US was whisked away from his hotel room in the early hours of today by the FBI.

Speaking on the development, the national chairman of the ruling APC, comrade Adams Oshiomhole said the arrest took place in his dream last night. He further stated that he was not alone in the dream. He hinted that, Buhari, Tinubu, Lai Mohammed and most APC supporters also had the same dream in their sleep last night.
Speaking further, he said he was actually enjoying the dream until he was rudely awoken by mosquito bites.

Las las APC people will be alright

  2. Nigeria won't work again under someone who is known to be a thief. A leopard can never change it's spots. You now want to put a thief and money launderer in charge of your national treasury? What do you think will happen. Nigeria working again my foot. Except in your dreams!

    1. And you haven't realized that Buhari is a bigger thief, stealing your future and dismantling Nigeria.
I guess you won't because he also stole your brains.

    2. Mr. Lifeless is totally clueless. The corruption happening under him is monumental.

He should go rest. Even the people he works with think he is senile.

They ignore him and make decisions over his head.

    3. Wasn't OBJ a convict? Didn't he rule Nigeria? Did Nigeria collapse under him? Was it this bad and unbearable under him. Didn't Buhari stole under the ministry of petroleum trust fund(PTDF)? Or you think we don't have the report and records of him there. In a sane clime, would Buhari be allowed to contest an election let alone to win after dethroning a democratic government in 1983 through coup.

Atiku haven't been convicted, and is qualified to rule Nigeria.

    4. Please tell us where a sane clime is if you have ever been to or know any. Please give us the report and records of Buhari stealing during his time at PTF. Yesterday, Teejay wanted to prove to us how daft Buhari is. He mentioned that Buhari said Ministry of Steel and Technology. Because such ministry doesn’t exist. Today, Teejay wrote, as above, that Buhari stole under Ministry of Petroleum Trust Fund then he used PTDF as the initial. BVs, was and has the PTDF ever been a ministry in the entire history of Nigeria? When you want to lie to make a false claim, you create a non existent thing. Please I want proof of the ministry that you mentioned. I am not focusing on his English today: Atiku HAVEN’T, Didn’t Buhari STOLE, etc.

    5. @Teejay, did I just read “ministry of petroleum trust fund(PTDF)”? Are you f***ing kidding me? In this age?

    6. You should know better that in the keypad D is directly before F and probably in the course of typing the D was mistakenly imputed. The full spelling should have made you understand I know what I typed.

    7. To your other question, let's take a look at this on how Vanguard put it;

The question that arises now is: how did retired Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari manage the Petroleum (Special) Trust Fund (PTF)? A detailed analysis published in Newswatch magazine of March 24, 2000, reveals sordid information about how the fund was allegedly systematically mismanaged.

Aside from the fact that an estimated 75% of PTF projects were cited in the north, its achievements were overshadowed by massive waste and corruption.

Remember, the total income that accrued to the fund in its five years of existence was over N146 billion, meant for special intervention in basic infrastructure, supply of essential materials and rehabilitation of health and educational facilities, among others.

The first blunder Buhari committed as the executive chairman of PTF was his unilateral appointment of a private firm, Afri-Projects Consortium (APC), as the sole adviser and management consultant to the fund.

The investigative Interim Management Committee (IMC-PTF) set up by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, headed by Haroun Adamu, discovered that not only did Buhari delegate most of his powers to the APC, it also confirmed that the consortium overcharged the fund for its services to the tune of N2 billion. One of the critical areas of intervention in the health sector handled by the company was PTF’s programme for the control and eradication of HIV/AIDS, where it allegedly  imported sub-standard, poorly packaged, poorly stored, expired or soon to expire treatment kits and drugs.

      Delete
    8. Indeed, because of APC’s unprofessional handling of the programme, the federal government spent over N500 million to stock big silos of useless drugs and kits purchased at inflated prices. At the time, late governor Abubakar Audu of Kogi state, Dr. Rowland Ogbonna, secretary of the Nigerian Guild of Medical Directors, and Omololu Falabi, coordinator of Journalists Against Aids (JAAIDS), insisted that unless all PTF supplied drugs were withdrawn Nigerians are at a high risk of consuming expired and fake drugs.

Other cases of mismanagement of public funds include the purchase of large quantities of spectacle frames sold N800 each locally for N1,900, resulting in government paying N45 million extra, and ambulances that normally costs N3 million per unit were purchased at the grossly inflated price of N13 million, leading to a loss of N900 million. In all the areas that PTF was expected to carry out its interventionist mandate, Obasanjo’s interim committee concluded that there had been massive fraud or criminal mismanagement of funds belonging to the PTF.

Indeed, Haroun Adamu reportedly complained that before his committee began its assignment, N500 million belonging to the fund and lodged in a bank had been withdrawn by unidentified persons. Overall, of the N146 billion PTF received from government, the staggering sum of N25 billion was either stolen or improperly spent on dubious goods and services.

      Delete
    9. Of course, APC denied any wrongdoing: the company issued a statement in which it claimed that its members were people of impeccable character who had undertaken several national and international assignments during and after the PTF years. Similarly, Buhari, when confronted with allegations of mismanagement of PTF’s funds, affirmed that he was unaware of it and as such could not have benefited personally from what happened.

But does his denial hold water? Assuming that he did not benefit from the corruption, was he so insular or alienated from what was going on in PTF that he had no idea about corruption there? In any case, as we noted earlier, he approved the appointment of APC and delegated virtually all his executive powers to the consortium. Moreover, it is alleged that Buhari himself ratified all recommended payments from the fund.

Therefore, because the buck stopped at his table, Muhammadu Buhari cannot be completely exonerated from the mismanagement in PTF if the findings of the interim committee reflected the true situation.

      Delete
    10. Now, what happened to the final report of the committee? If the report contained details of gross mismanagement and corruption as reported in the media, why was Buhari not invited to give account of his stewardship? If Obasanjo was really sincere in setting up the investigative winding down committee, if he really wanted to know the truth about how PTF was managed and punish anyone found guilty of improper conduct, why was he eager to exonerate Buhari completely from blame?

The answer to the last question is: Muhammadu Buhari is one of the so-called sacred cows or untouchables alongside other former military heads of state who appear to be above the law. Besides, putting him in the hot seat might unearth facts that could tarnish his reputation for integrity and incorruptibility.

Those that voted for Buhari on the conviction that he would improve the economy were hoodwinked by the persistent narrative of integrity and incorruptibility from Buharimaniacs: they did not reckon with his track record both as a military head of state and executive chairman PTF to arrive at a more realistic and rational estimate of what he can achieve in that critical area of our national life. Moreover, Buhari seems averse to accepting responsibility especially when things go wrong under his watch.

    11. Thanks for the copy and paste comments despite not providing name of the writer to at least know who wrote it. Or the source. This is the intellectual theft you claim not to do and accused the President of doing. Secondly, based on your first comment, “Didn’t Buhari STOLE”, there is no where in the three copy and paste comment where he was directly accused of the allegation you leveled against him - STOLE. Furthermore, the biggest allegation is that there was mismanagement by those given to run the parastatals, APC, not even him. Despite the records were going to him for authorization and approval. Remember, it says there that he delegated all the executive power to the APC.
I’m glad you defended yourself by apportioning your error of D in PTDF to the keypad. Although I know we have PTDF now, which is a carry over from the defunct PTF. How come you skipped the Ministry of Petroleum Trust Fund? Who created the ministry? Who was the minister of the ministry? Buhari was chair of PTF. So tell us, should I say you are daft, brain sick and an impostor for saying Ministry of Petroleum Trust Fund, using your argument against Buhari for saying Ministry of Steel and Technology? Please answer this last one first before you pretend not to see it as you did above. Was it the keypad that caused the addition of MINISTRY?

    12. Anonymous, I read a reply to a comment by teejay in the Spontaneous post this morning. If I were you, I would take the advice. See it below.
“But Teejay you actually make no sense.
      None.
Just always gathering a hodge podge of unrelated stories together trying to sound enlightened about what you know NOTHING about.
Lucky for you are surrounded by people as dumb as you in these matters, so whatever you say they will be nodding like dullards.
I for one can't be bothered to correct your many gaffes, it's not worthy of my time and energy and I suggest that other person who dresses you down with facts and figures (embarrassingly so) apply herself or himself to more profitable matters.

Where is your Biafran 'ero by the way???

You surprise and shock me saying Buhari wasn't quoted as guilty. A man who approved all the money used for the scam and fraudulent act to you is called what? Now I see your sense of judgement is terrible. Good day, I am done with you. You thought I can't provide you with this details.

    1. But have you guys ever asked why a person of Atiku’s calibre and personality would be denied a US visa for several years? I’m just intrigued because Atiku himself said he has wanted to prove himself for several years by entering the country but he was denied visa severally. What would have been the reason for the US embassy to deny a former VP visa several times? Why now? Should we not be asking ourselves these questions? Forget about the APC and PDP politics for a second. Just a thought.

    2. Anonymous tell us too why Buhari was also denied visa in US not until he won election that the embargo was lifted.

  14. All the people supporting Buhari are wicked people benefitting directly from him and his family/Govt. I dont understand why somebody that crippled the economy this much should be voted again. Fighting corruption??? Pls what have we benefitted from this corruption fought for almost 4yrs now??? Where are the funds? Yet cost of living in Nigeria skyrocketed. Fuel price, double car importation, hiked AEDC bills, value of Naira /dollar etc.i'm not a fan of politics but I know that Buhari has done nothing but impose untold hardship to the common man cuz him, his friends and family are looting. Dollar cant come down because of them, they get millions of dollar from CBN at low rates and trade for biz. Thats their core business. Kill me first but I prefer a thief that will make the economy work and improve the standard of living for the common man than just his Family. Enter APC and your sins are forgiven according to Adams Oshiomole. Nobody knows the kind of billions Akpabio stole. Akwa ibom gets one of the highest allocation monthly in Nigeria, he will utilize 1 billion or less than a billion monthly and Akwa ibom people are happy that he is working, meanwhile he carts away billions monthly. Why cant they see how they were robbed by that man and disassociate from him and his suppoters, but they will still gather to feed on his crums. Akpabio maybe one of the richest man in this country but cant flaunt it because its stolen wealth, pls why has he not been investigated. I sincerely regret being a Nigerian with this type of leaders. Change is now punishment.its sad that Nigeria still wont change until you and I stand up and make things change. Vote in and vote out. I'm of the opinion that even if Atiku is voted in and he doesn't perform, he should be voted out asap. I dont see why someone who did nothing with four years will be requesting another four years. Its sickening and very disheartening. ##guys forgive the typos but I'm really upset at some BV's defending nonsense here, they must be working for or gaining something from this cursed Govt. And I repeat, until we quit selfishness as a country and face communal interest, we cant move forward.
