Senate Cancels Emergency Tuesday Session

The National Assembly has cancelled emergency session scheduled for Tuesday to discuss suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen.

In a letter written and signed by the Clerk of the Senate, Mr. Nelson Ayewoh, he pointed out that the resumption date of February 19,2019 still remains.

The development might not be unconnected with fears that the Presidency was planning a leadership change of both Chambers.

    3. Saraki knows that this emergency session might lead to his own impeachment. That’s why he changed tactics!!!

  2. The major reason for the reconvening was the issue of the CJN suspension but since the Senate have approached the supreme court for the interpretation of what the President action, it will be an act of prejudice to sit and talk over the same issue.

    1. Dingbat how could the Senate have reached the decision to approach the Supreme Court when they did not sit?Anyway APC senators have washed their hands off the move so maybe you can say 'Saraki approached the Supreme Court with his PDP colleagues'

    2. Also just to make clear, cases are never initiated at the Supreme Court, they are finalized there after all the other courts have been exhausted.

    3. Anon 10:40, you are the bomb. Leave this boy to be menstruating with his meaningless comments. When you tell him, he will start bragging about superior argument which he knows nothing about. Saraki went to Supreme Court, not the Senate. Who reconvened them? When was the sitting? Why court to the Supreme Court which is the last and final place of resort for a court case? You know nothing about jurisprudence so keep quiet. The same you will start bragging and making noise about following procedures but you are a hypocrite when it comes to your support for ANYTHING against the president. Love for your PDP will fail.

    1. Sorry, he failed this time. Only people like you buy this cheap move. Who goes to the Supreme Court to open a case? Is the Supreme Court not the last and final destination for judgement? And when did the Senate reconvened for them to agree to a court case on the CJN’s issue? Nothing held yesterday do all this is null and void. It is as useless as the efforts put into it. Learn basic jurisprudence please.

    2. why do you think he quickly changed his mind about reconvening the house to discuss the issue of the suspended CJN? He remembered the amount of begging and bribes before APC guys decided to look the other way and allow him remain as Senate president. If he had tried any nonsense, he would have been impeached. Let all PDPigs scream till kingdom come...aint gonna change jack. Corrupt humans.
