FG Announces Mid-term Break For Schools Ahead of Forth Coming Presidential Election...

The Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, on Friday officially announced Feb. 15 to 19 as a mid-term break for students of all the Unity Schools across the country.

“The essence of this break is to enable parents have maximum time to go and cast their votes and have the freedom to bring their children and wards back to school.

“Even if the child is not of voting age, the parent is of voting age. The break is only for presidential elections. There is no break for governorship elections,” he said.

    1. Na wah for you u o. You no just get shame at all. Na teacher u born your children for?
Teachers shouldn't rest because of the tashere school fees you pay. Nonsense. quit your job and take care of your children yourself.

    2. Anno 12:50, why are you this bitter? If you need a job why don't you pray to the giver of jobs to grant you one. Why should students be granted long breaks and parent shouldn't be huh? Instead of been angry at your post I feel enormous pity for you. May God add sweetness to your life cos you are obviously bitter.

  16. They're expecting trouble regarding the elections and this is a way of minimising casualties or covering their backs. Unity schools are federal government colleges. When you drop off your child at a unity college, you have physically and legally put them in the hands of the federal government. If anything were to happen to the children while they're in the custody of the federal government - especially if it were to happen on a mass scale - there will be a lot of p*ssed off parents across Nigeria. And it will be a public relations nightmare. This is a very bad sign, oh.

  24. This is actually the right step to take. Private schools are going on 2 mid term breaks. One for presidential and another for governorship. Companies are already restricting movement of production during this period and strong security measures have been sent out to staffs to ensure their safety. We cannot foresee what will happen so everyone needs to be extra security conscious .
