Fire Burns Down INEC's Third Office In Two Weeks...

In less than two weeks, a third office of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Awka, the Anambra State capital, was engulfed in flames on Tuesday.





Loads of materials for the presidential and National Assembly elections scheduled for February 16, 2019, were affected by the inferno, which occurred at the INEC office near the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka.


Card readers and other sensitive materials for the elections were razed during the incident.

The cause of the fire has not been determined .....
Two INEC offices in Plateau and Abia states had been affected have been razed over the past few days.

The commission had called for improved security and the Inspector General of Police ordered tight security around INEC offices across the nation.

  3. These are PDP stronghold ooh... This is to expose how weak, incompetent and porous our security agencies have become. This is nothing but electoral sabotage. I thought sensitive materials like this goes with tight security? Nigeria won't cease to amaze me.

  4. Hian Stella, were you thinking the fire was natural? This is usually the norm whenever elections are drawing close. They deliberately refuse to provide our PVCs then still go ahead to cause massive unrest before the elections. Me wey dey plan to vote before, now i can't because i couldn't get my PVC. 😥🙁😖😕

  11. They are trying to cause election not to hold in Anambra state knowing fully well that majority will vote for PDP. How come the container carrying the sensitive materials is opened? Why was it open? The officials should be held responsible cos they are the only ones that had access to the locks.
