Labour Room Drama 251

It is not as easy as it sounds!!!

Hi Stella and fellow BVs, I've been a BV for 5 years now but I hardly comment. I usually look forward to writing my own LRD lol and here I am.

I got married 2 years ago and became preg few months after. I studied in Enugu but live in Onitsha with hubby, so my ante-natal was both places.

2 weeks before my EDD I took permission from school to travel
and give birth(told HOD I'll only come to write exam but won't be able to attend lectures)

You see, I thought I'll be among those who give birth before EDD but I wasn't that lucky. I passed my EDD yet nothing happened
and exam was fast approaching, so I decided to go back to Enugu to write my exam and also give birth there.

Exam was supposed to start on Mon, so I left for Enugu on Friday. While in the car(on my way to school) I was feeling small pain on my waist but I thought it's normal pain, I didn't know it's contraction lol.

Immediately I reached Enugu, I registered in a hospital close to school just in case labour starts in class or anywhere. When the Dr saw my file he scanned me
and told me that I was due for delivery. He did membrane sweep and told me to go and get my delivery bag. I laughed and left the hospital. It was funny because I stayed in Onitsha for 3 weeks and the baby refused to come out, so how will the baby come today that I left Onitsha? Lol

Anyway, I went home and called my elder sister who also lives in Enough to come
and stay with me. We were still packing delivery bag when the contraction increased. I tried enduring it till 10pm, then we left for hospital. I was told I was 4cm. For my mind if I can endure till 4cm then I can do it, lol.

My fellow Bvs the pain kept on increasing that I didn't even know when it clocked 12am. I thought I was gonna die but death was soooo far away. I wanted to suggest CS but if I remember the money involved
and how far I've gone, I'll encourage myself.

Unlike others who felt relieved when their waist was massaged, mine was different. The more my sister massaged It the more I feel fire, I just told her to stop, lol. Whenever contraction hit me I'll grab her top, or bra. I even hit the hospital wall lol. Hub was on phone telling me sorry & listening to everything.

I kept on telling the Dr to give me tear instead of the baby giving me tear (cos I heard it's worst when the baby gives it). I told him I'll never forgive him if the baby gives me tear

At 1:10am I had my baby girl. She's the cutest baby I've ever seen.

I was discharged the next day cos of my exam, & I wrote all my exam. BTW I made it without any carryover

PS. Child birth isn't easy in 9ja, I had a bad experience with the Dr. He was rude & always yelling at me to shut up whenever contraction hit me. I pray my 2nd child will be born abroad, lol

*Congrats!!!!

    1. Just seeing this Mama. Your worries are totally normal, just relax and keep praying. As long as there isn't any complication, go for the vaginal delivery and God will help you. I was also very scared some months ago but God helped me, My baby is six months old. God will make it easy for you ,Pele.

    1. Labour and delivery is not always long for everybody. Exercise well, take long walks even if it s just walking up n down in ur compound. Do sit ups, 'catch d ball'n eat light but healthy. Above all, pray for God's grace to experience short and easy labour. Ask God exactly as you want it. My first baby, I was induced, labour lasted 5hrs. 2nd baby, I did all d above, labour lasted like 1hr between leaving work, getting to labour room n delivery. Wish u same delivery in Jesus Name.
