Roads To Be Closed During APC Presidential Rally In Lagos Listed...

The All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential campaign would hold at the Teslim Balogun stadium in Surulere on Saturday, February 9th and the Lagos state government, has given a directive that would prevent road users from accessing eighteen different roads in the state.

Disclosing this at a press conference in Ikeja, the former minister of state for defence and chairman, transport committee on Buhari’s campaign visit to the state, Mr Demola Seraki, opined that over 100,000 members of the APC were expected at the rally.

Demola said that movement would be diverted on the roads to prevent motorists and commuters from being stranded. “For instance, Alaka (by Lanre Shittu Motors) on the service lane, inwards stadium will be closed to traffic, while vehicles will be diverted to the stadium bridge on the main carriage way,” he said.

“Shitta, inwards stadium, will be closed to traffic and vehicles diverted to Adeniran Ogunsanya street or Akerele extension. Traffic from barracks to stadium on Funsho Williams avenue will be diverted to stadium bridge on the main carriage way to Alaka.”

Below are the listed roads: Funsho Williams Avenue, Surulere Lawanson/Itire /Tejuosho road Apapa/Costain road Abebe village Eric Moore road Eko Bridge/Apongbon Marina road Ikorodu road Mobolaji Bank Anthony way Old Toll Gate/Third Mainland Bridge/Obalende Airport road Oshodi-Oworonshoki expressway Agege Motor road Jibowu area Yaba/Muritala Mohammed way Iddo/Otto Herbert Macaulay way Adekunle Ijora Olopa

    1. Stella, ALL the trailers have disappeared from the road. These trailers have been there everyday going to 2 years now. Buhari and campaign train comes and trailers disappeared.
Meaning that there is a solution to the menace that has played us for about 2 yrs now but the solution is not being implemented. No single truck on the road o

  3. The tankers I'm seeing in this picture is so annoying. I wonder why Lagos State Government can't do anything about them permanently so they won't keep causing crazy traffic.

    1. This same tankers are already being cleared, my question now is,when Buhari goes back to Abuja they will all come back and park there again? So they have a place they can put them so why block roads, why make life unbearable for people?
Dey for leave the tankers there make Buhari come see am.

    2. Cynthia the only solution to the tankers and trailers dilemma is for the federal govt to make other ports in the country operational.

    3. Tinubu will not let it see the light of day because that’s more revenue for Lagos state and himself. He will definitely try to frustrate such option.

  12. They have closed all the roads na. There is nothing left for people to use. This is sheer wickedness. As if the plight we suffer commuting daily to and fro on Eko bridge is not enough. Going to work your heart is beating coming back your heart is beating cos you dont know what the traffic will be like. Its so traumatising. Those trailers have basically taken over eko bridge. The truck drivers pay 2k per day to park. Therefore they fix them like bedbugs on any road . Any and every link access road to apapa. They park with inpunity whereever they want on the bridge. Double parked leaving other road users basically 'fu#ked'both ways. If you get hooked on eko bridge your finished. There was a day i got home 1am. That is for a VI to surulere journey that is usually 10 -15 minutes for me. It is apparent lagos is functioning on auto pilot as our clueless figure -head (pun intended) of a governor is so inept and ineffective. He shld never come back. Governance is not for everyone. Aturu. As for Nigeria, it is a failed state. Period. They dont care about us. Its a jungle. Which civilised country will close roads to the the populace because they are having a rally??? Nigeria, i weep for you.
    #yesthisisarant. I am just sooo pissed .

    2. Hmmmmm.
Our leaders are nothing but wicked with no human emotions. I really feel for those staying at that Apapa Axis. My friend commutes from lekki to Apapa daily for work.
The traffic we have even been experiencing this week at Lekki Axis, they now want to make it worse 2mrw. God will judge all of them accordingly.

    3. I would have thought this is my sister. She too lives in surulere but works in VI. Sometimes, she gets home 12am. She has been robbed so many times, shes frtustrated. I really pray their canada ish works out early so they can leave. Nigeria nawa.

    4. I pray it rains heavily for the whole of tomorrow. Nonsense

    5. Funny thing is that the 2k they are collecting from these trailers won't even do jack shit when these bridges need maintenance. It has become business for all the police, LASTMA and army officers posted to these places to help monitor traffic. They even have agberos collecting money for them. As at yesterday they have removed all the trucks and trailers which means they had a place for them in the first place, why park them on the road at the risk of other road users. I keep saying that the governor has a cut he's taking for him to be putting the lives of his citizens at risk like this cos we all know they all care about their pockets and nothing else. I'm sure by Monday now the road will be filled with trailers again.

    7. Hahahahaha amen to the rain prayer but solely in those areas where the rally is holding.

🤣🤣🤣 Aturu Nigeria 😂 ..... omo we harsh for this blog.

  13. Dem for just kukuma declare tomorrow 'no movement in Lagos Day' na. Last week Saturday na Lagos City marathon. This Saturday na APC rally. It is well. I advise Lagosians to siddon for house jeje if their outing no be matter of life and death o. MC Oluomo goons fit decide to retaliate tomorrow. Person wey get ear make e use am hear better word o.
    1. Wedding can be postponed to tomorrow or next week.
    2. Your life is not worth only a plate of party jollof and "thanks for coming"
    3. No be sales wey you go make tomorrow go turn you to billionaire. Lock shop if you dey rally axis.
    4. If you are not in the medical or law enforcement line, respect yourself. If you die, dem go shaperly replace you by next week.
    5. Agberos and cultists don see Ambode finish. Dem no send person message. Lagos na lawless/no man's land until May handover. Protect yourself! Safety first!! Una doh o...

  14. This is how wicked, clueless and stupid this government is. This Saturday MAJOR roads are blocked for a mere campaign bringing untold hardship to Lagosians, roads leading to popular Balogun market CLOSED, a market that generates millions as IGR roads connecting the island and mainland for a lifeless fossil to campaign as a failure and probably present Chibuike Amaechi as the governortorial candidate for lagos and tell you guys how his WAEC certificate was stolen by FiDeFi because he fought the biafran war with Ojukwu, if he has performed he doesn't need EVEN campaign, His antecedents will speak. They should allow this man to go home and REST since he's ill rather than pulling him like malu on a jamboree. Next week Saturday, no movement too cause its elections, how do we get things done for goodness sake? 2 Saturdays, no major movement in a state where major residents are salary earners or business people, who need the Saturdays to do stuff. Why this? I need to go to Balogun tomorrow to buy stuff for an occasion, i have deliveries scheduled tomorrow. I'm pained.

    1. Same here. Like seriously pained. And next Saturday is a no go option bc of election. Like why can’t they hold elections during the week and make it a workfree day...... we’ll i guess the market has to be done during the week, hopefully my boss permits 🙏🏼

  15. People will always complain. So you would have preferred if the president comes without proper planning and everywhere is locked down!

This is not the first time roads will be closed and it's not that bad.

    1. If the president see all these, it will look as if this how Lagos road is. We are suffering on daily bases on these roads because of heavy traffic. instead of you condeming it, you re happy that we are suffering. Pls have sense

  16. Please if you have no serious reason to go out tomorrow. Kindly stay at home. Remember your safety matters most.

  17. May the wickedness of the wicked come to end in Nigeria. So there's actually a solution to gridlock in Lagos and lives are being lost, people are stressed. Posterity will judge me these leaders.

    1. Kemi that's not even the solution, stopping trucks from moving and doing their legitimate business is not the solution

  18. If you want to complain pls do that with sense. If he didn't create awareness about the roads barricade now you pple will still complain. Mtcheew...

  19. It's so annoying. I'm in Lagos for biz and I've decided i won't go out till monday before traffic hold me like glue. I know wetin I take my eye see for road yesterday all in the name of campaign
