  1. THIS IS A GOOD STARTING POINT - PROTEST ON SUNDAY

Some Nigerians have taken to Twitter to mobilise a protest against alleged rape and abuses perpetrated in churches.

The protest, according to a viral flyer, expected to take place on Sunday will see protesters march to Commonwealth of Zion Church (COZA), Abuja.

In a viral video on Friday, popular photographer, Busola Dakolo, detailed how Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of COZA allegedly raped her twice as a teen choir member in his church.

The video generated reactions from many Nigerians including Fatoyinbo who declared his alleged innocence on Instagram saying, "I have never raped before."

The protest is part of a series of planned demonstrations holding on Sunday in major cities across Nigeria

    5. @kindheart Exactly dear. He need to apologize to The Dakolos, not because what Busalo said was true or lie. He Wale was not there. He wasn’t even member of the church at that time. So for him Wale to be listing Timi and Busalo sins ( like he don’t have non), saying they are only doing it for attention, they had their kids out of wedlock and the church forced them to married etc. I was like JESUS! What does all of those things he listed have to do with what she said happened to her? Even IF Busalo is a prostitute today with 10 kids from 10 different men. That still doesn’t change what she said happened to her that morning at the age of 17. Her innocence were taken away by a man her and her family trusted and called Pastor. She said she was raped. That’s her truth. Shaming a woman because she said she was raped is wrong and hurtful. I doubt she will make up something like that. So Wale please publicly apologize to Busalo for shaming her publicly yesterday because she told her story. Let your pastor speak for himself. FYI most rape victims don’t talk because they think no one will believe them. Some take decades to finally have the courage to speak. This’s a known fact.

Women who marry men like this are the ones I feel sorry for, When he made that post he used Biodun’s image but now he has gone to bring out his wife and kids picture to get some people to his side. That’s how Bobrisky, wrote his own too and later deleted. If you can’t pick a side, it’s best to be silent than make a fool of yourself. Don’t tell me you understand what rape or abuse is because you have “a mother, daughter (s), wife or a sister”, I want you to understand rape and abuse because you’re human and you believe in equal rights and respect. But he was doing well according to human standards - A-list brand ambassadors with shoot abroad, orders coming in from all over the world and in different currencies according to him. That's a level that many African entrepreneurs want to be on, even if they're not on the cover of Forbes. If someone told him at the beginning of this month that it would all disappear before the end of the of June, he'd have asked HOW CAN?

Lesson from this - if you've been waiting on God for a breakthrough, things can change in a split second despite what you think you aren't seeing around you.

  22. I am not in support of rape and I was raped about that age too but my question is why are people trying to intimidate this man into silence? You said he should react to prove his innocence which he has done and said he is going to court which I think will settle the matter, I see no reason why someone will come out and say 30 women are waiting to testify. If you truely have this amount of testifiers you should go to the law court instead of social media which depict the court if public opinion. Why are they threatening him if they have all the evidence they claim,as a psychologist I think they should just wait and allow the man to go to court first before announcing their evidence, all these talks and claims shows one thing, they don't have anything to hold on to hence their coming out to say they will support the Dakolo's financially if the said pastor decides to go to court. All these social media noise is uncalled for, Busola,I believe you know this is a big mess right? Because if this man decided to confess to his wife and he the church that he actually dated you while you were with Timi and decided to spew it in court, how are you gonna claim rape?I believed you must have denied your amorous relationship to your husband, Good luck to you all.

    1. The 30 women have gone to court. They say they have evidence. We will wait patiently for what they come up with. Busola is a very brave woman. Yes she will get backlash from idiots but she will be fine. Let her try. In the same vein let Fatoyinbo go to court and prove himself. Simple.

    2. All these social media noise is uncalled for? I put it to you that you are a liar re: your first line, you DEFINITELY support rape.

    3. Are you okay at all? How long has it taken them to get R. Kelly to pay for his crimes despite several allegations and evidences from women? How long did it take to convict Bill Cosby who is just serving time for his crime in his old age? Let’s assume Busola dates Pastor Biodun, was she a minor or not? Did she give consent?

I think many of you just willingly choose to be daft and no you’re a liar, you aren’t a Victim. I can bet that a man wrote this because this is the MO of men to discredit women. So Busola that is not hungry will come out with these allegations for what? What’s the joy in exposing personal details about your life? She has kids too you know, who will grow up someday to see these things and you think she’d want to risk lying so boldly? Is Biodun the only pastor in Nigeria, several women who aren’t as popular has said this same thing about this man but yet Timi’s wife is the problem and not the man whose history dates as far back as University of Ilorin before he went into the Ministry of ‘serving God’.

Oh or is it Pastor King who was jailed for burning his members alive who has impregnated prison wardens while serving time and still running his church from the inside because his members are as brain dead as he is? In one part you’re a victim, a psychologist but I put it to you that you’re just an idiot.

    4. How can I be in support Of rape when am a woman myself and I have gone through it, why I said that was that if they have evidence as they claim, the court should be the first call of point not social media. Why try to garner unnecessarily sympathy if your claims are true ? 2 Why try to intimidate the accused into silence if your claims are true? In the developed world is it not the police that releases crimes stories on the internet after the case has been investigated to a logical point? Please Nigerian s should grow up and see things beyond their nose.If Busola and Timi Dakolo's claim are true they should sue the pastor already instead of these noise. I'm not a COZA members. Lest I forget we should not be in a haste to forget Freeze's wife or girlfriend who claims his husband was gay and as stopped loving her shortly after their marriage but evidence presented in court were contrary to her claims, infact she was embarrassed to say the least. We should not jump and believe woman of questionable past and am not sayi g Busola's claims are untrue but they should wait patiently for the legal process.

    6. Anon 9:46 there is no such thing as “dating” a minor ie a child below 18 and an adult in a position of authority over them eg a teacher, Pastor etc. It cannot be consensual and any consent given is disregarded by law. It is simply called statutory rape. It is criminal. The reason for this is that any mature person can easily groom a naive child and get them to ‘consent’ them a sexual relationship. This is why it is STATUTORY rape. If the timeline of this incidence is determined to be correct he will go to jail whether or not they were dating/engaged/in love/complicated/friends with benefits/Netflix &chilling/forceful rape she was a minor it was rape. #keepyourpenisawayfromchildren

      Delete
    7. Anon 10:27, why I’m responding to you a second time is because I just want you to know that you need help both mentally and educationally. You do not know anything about the influence of social media or what trauma means for a “kolomentologist”.

No doubt that a lot of times people say things that are false when angry but you didn’t answer my questions. What does Busola and Timi have to gain from doing this? Timi, never even mentioned his wife when he started it. Pray, tell what has the pope done about the countless allegations against the Catholic Church/priests? Instead of calling them out, priests are getting transferred to other locations to continue the ‘Lord’s work’.

I can go all day to bring out facts on why many people turn to social media first before the courts and if you had any sense you’d also agree that social media is powerful, it can bring about positive or negative results depending on how it’s used. Let people share their stories how they deem, Biodun has released a statement only and yet to sue. If he is truly innocent, he should take her to court as Biodun Fatoyinbo and not COZA. No one has accused COZA of rape but Biodun, he should answer his name and stop using the church as a shield. When I tell you people to read you’d get on the defensive but see how you are on Al gore’s internet making a fool of yourself. If you must come back to reply me make sure you do so with proof of rape cases that have gone to court with no social media outrage and has seen the accused in jail in Nigeria, else let’s call it a day and you run off to go pick a book or two.

    9. Anon 20:36, endeavour to read between the lines and understand before rushing to comment. I know what statutory rape means and I stand to be corrected that Busola was not a minor when the sex happened and wasn't a virgin. Busola made up the rape story to cover her tracks of being a highly unscrupulous single lady check her statement " this incident broke something in me" all she was trying to say is that she became the way she was before marriage because of the rape and probably marriage healed her which are all lies. 14. You are a roadside psychologist. Even Joro better pass you.
The reason why people like you are shouting "Go to court" is that you know nothing tangible will come out of the legal system. Even abroad where the system is legit, how many convictions do you get out of rape cases? Rape is an extremely hard thing to prove in court worse when such a lengthy time has passed. No same person has a right to ask her why it took her so long to open up. It is her trauma and you have no right to put an expiry date on how she deals with it. This is not a NAFDAC matter. Yes there are false accusations and I don't jump 5o believe every accusation but this man has history and the story Busola told is way too detailed to be cooked up. There might be gaps but he surely did have carnal knowledge of her while she was underaged. Whether she dated him afterwards is inconsequential. Even prostitutes can be raped. I have carried a runs girl before and when we were about to get down, she refused an act we had clearly agreed on before hand. She claimed she did not hear me well. I was sure she did but was playing smart. I asked her what will happen next, she said her pay was not negotiable despite the breach of contract. I paid her as agreed, fondled her a bit (with full consent) and discharged her. People like you would have supported me if I had forced her and gotten my way but that would have been rape in it's full manifestation. Even Ashawo can be raped, so enough of this Busola having a past. It is completely inconsequential. I am a man and I am ashamed of the woman you are based on the comment above

He said its a woman that determines whether rape will happen, that a woman should fight off the rapist with her last breathe and that women prefer to be raped than being killed. I told him he is the type that criticises women and ask them 'why did you go to his house?' When they report rape. He said 'yes na, why did she go to his house? After collecting gifts and money from the guy and then you tell him you are not interested'
I was very angry, I told him to change his mindset and he should not say it outside for the sake of our daughter. How can a father say this kind of thing? I don't know how to even handle him, we almost quarrelled last night. I'm so angry at this man that I married.

Look at what he has done to his wife. Many people didn't know her before. Now she will be known as the wife of the rape supporter. He even released her picture. Women, don't only marry potential, look for pattern oh. Before a man makes you famous for the wrong reasons.

Every unmarried woman, pray like this, "Father in Heaven, have mercy on me and don't allow me marry a man that will disgrace me, in Jesus' Name. Give me the right father for my children that will not make strangers curse my children for what they know nothing about."
