I got married and he still continued .I never met him in any secluded area. Always in public. . Very upright and kindhearted. He just died on Friday . He was a nice man. I am still in shock

The mum cooked three square meals for me gave me a nice room to sleep and even gave me transport. I got home and told my mum she called to thank him and his mum when I got back to lagos.

    2. My first visit to the big Apple and at a train station going to WTC and I had difficulty swiping my card at the gate and this angel helped me, took me to the correct train side and lectured me on safety tips during my tour. I was woowed by his kindness and we keep in touch. RAK

  4. This one time I was traveling on the train. It was January and winter and so freaking cold. And a trip of 18 hours too. I had gotten a blanket from the conductor but was still so cold because my place was by the window.

So the woman opposite me went to the conductor and came back with 2 blankets. I assumed she took them for herself and her partner cos she wasn't alone. Imagine my shock when she came to me and didn't just give me a blanket, she asked me to lie down and tucked me around me securely.

I was so touched, I almost cried. A white woman and a black girl. She told me to sleep and because of her, I was a ble to pass the rest of the trip In relative comfort.

I never saw her again but I will never forget what she did.

  6. This happened about 5 years ago in Abuja opposite First Bank close to Grand Square. I was about to enter my car when a gentleman in suit told me that my tire was flat. The young man offered to change it for me. He took of his suit and changed the tire under Abuja hot sun!I offered him money and a ride but he politely declined. Sir, where ever you are, God will reward for your help!

  7. The nicest act from strangers to me are too numerous to mention. But, the most recent one was a total stranger paying my school fees in thousands of euros and then, he just disappeared.

I will always be grateful for little things so that multiple good thing will come my way and stay with me.

A stranger once tipped me a thousand plus euro.

A total stranger helped me in one of my most difficult times and it all was like a dream even though I believe so much in miracles.

Its been years, I directly asked God for something, but the way he chooses to bless me sometimes is way beyond my comprehension.

God bless all the strangers touching the lives of people.

  9. I wish I could meet the lady and tell her a very big thank you. I was in SS2 then, I took ill and instead of goin to the school's dispensary, I decided to go I boarded from Gindiri to Mangu, then boarded another cab to Jos, I don't know where exactly this lady joined us, but once she noticed my body was so hot, she told the driver to please stop at any available medicine store, she bought some antimalarial for me, gave it to me and made me lay my head on her thighs, not long ago after takin the drug I was up on my feet. I only told her thank you when I got to old airport junction as that was my junction and she bade me goodbye, wishing me quick recovery. Till date I don't know what she looks like, even if I see her now, I won't recognise her. But I'm very grateful for this kindness...

  11. During my youth service, we passed out from camp and the state I was posted to, I didn’t have anyone there. My dad gave me a letter to give to one of his former colleagues where he introduced me as his daughter and to be please accommodate me till I sort myself out. I didn’t locate the man in good time and it was night time. I was just walking in the University campus that night not sure of where to sleep as my fellow corper friend’s uncle did not want her to accommodate me even for the night in their home on campus there.
A car pulled beside me and the guy rolled down( I was dressed in my full corper uniform) and he asked me where I was going. He introduced himself as a fellow corper ( all them big boys that didn’t stay in camp for one day lol). And that he stopped cos he saw I was one too. I told him I didn’t have anywhere to stay and I was hunting for my dad’s friend who would accommodate me.

He said he had a cousin in the hostel and he could take me there to spend the night. I feared the worst and I didn’t have any option cos I wasn’t sure he was genuine.
Na so he carried me to the hostel, called his cousin out and explained things to her. She took me in, gave me water to bathe, gave me her bed. She even offered me food but I was overwhelmed and not hungry one bit.
The next day I thanked her for her generosity and told her to extend to the guy too cos till date, I can’t even say I will recognise him cos it was so dark then.

I was able to locate my dad’s colleague and immediately he read the letter I had he took me in saying “welcome home my daughter, your dad is a good man”.
God bless them all wherever they all may be.

I was going home from work and there was this terrible traffic,so was stuck inside traffic till around 12-1am , then boom a gas tanker came from God knows where and fell, it was like film trick . It was a week after otedola bridge fire in Lagos happened. People started running and drivers trying to reverse. Our driver left his car and started running too, I joined o. Then this man stopped for me to enter his car(he has already reversed) , cars were not stopping to help, at least before the gas explode because the smell was already in the air.To cut the story short, he helped me to my busstop around 3am, some people wouldn’t have waited in that atmosphere of death.. 25. Talking of a stranger who became my good friend.
Where on earth is Marilo my friend??? She is from Edo state and lived in Europe long time ago.

I am looking for dearest old time sister friend from Edo state who lived in Amsterdam, Holland around 1995 - 1997 or more...
Her name is Marilo. She is petite, small and slim stature, always a smiling face. Very respectful, and thoughtful, level headed and soooo...humble. Full of goodness and always made me smile with her innocent sense of humor!
She lived in Greece and studied there before coming to Holland in the mid 1990's. She spoke fluent Greek language and I believe she studied Nursing or Midwifery? or something in Health profession?

I have search and looked and asking for her since over 23 years now!!! Every time I travel to Europe and around the Benelux countries, I keep on asking. Nobody seems to know.
Did she move to the UK, or America or Canada ???
WHERE ON EARTH IS MY DEAREST DARLING MARILO???
    MARILO WHERE ARE YOU...OH!!!

    My email is: saneema@yahoo.com

  27. I don't think any stranger has ever done anything like that for me. I'm the type that doesn't really associate with strangers. Please don't bash me, I find it difficult to associate with people who are not really close to me, I've few friends and i keep myself company by visiting this blog, and reading people's comments whenever I am less busy.
People around me have so much betrayed me, that I hate getting involved with people.
I've helped in my own little way, people I don't really know. I don't come to them, rather they approach me.Financially (although always small), accomodating, food and all.
We once accommodated a revrend sister that had no where to go as it was late, and thier house was not in good shape. She stay for a few weeks before she left. She never stopped calling and thanking my mum for being her helper then.

  30. I think mine was an angel.
I accompanied my Dad’s driver from Abuja to Lagos and just before Redeemed camp around 8pm the car started to overheat. Driver had picked two men dressed as soldiers (they didn’t show any ID card to confirm if they were real) to accompany us in the name of “security”. So I was stranded on the side of the road with 3 men. This was far back in 2007. Suddenly a man driving a bus stopped and told us we couldn’t stand there because it was a den for armed robbers and all sorts, asked us how he could help and we told him since the car has refused to start we need to tow it to a safer place for the night but getting a towing van at that time and location was impossible.

There was no rope in sight, this man tore all the bus seat belts to form a rope and dragged us to the front of Redeemed camp where traders display their wares. I had to sleep in the car with the doors locked while the silly driver spent the rest of the night drinking with the garage men. The soldiers didn’t even wait to help, they followed the next available car the minute the car stopped.

So I just stood and was looking. The head of keke napep riders came and asked me what the problem was and I explained to him and begged him to help me change my N500 to smaller denominations. He didn't have but he gave me N20 to add to the one I had before. I was so happy and surprised,I almost hugged him. It meant so much to me at that time.

  43. I had a punctured tyre on the epe-ajah high way and was struggling to change it by myself. Many people just stared and drove past watching me struggle with it. It wasn't easy, being a lady. Some even had funny expressions on their faces that I couldn't fathom. He was and still is truck driver by profession. They take pieces of blasted rock from all over Nigeria to beaches in Lagos. He alighted from his truck even though he was in a convoy and assisted me. I took his number afterwards and we've been what's app friends since then. That's the one and only time we ever saw. I can't even recognize him today, if is see him. He has a favourite picture on his what's app dp that I remember his face by though. It's been almost 8 years.

  44. Hmmm. A memorable act from a stranger that is now more than a father to me was when I was stranded, bruised and helpless. I was hurt by a guy and his friends and ran batshit crazy in a hotel. As tough as those guys looked and the lies they said this man accommodated me in his suite. He counseled me and gave me two cheques amounting to thirty five million naira to take care of my mum, set up my business and gave me contacts to get goods. Thirty five million to a crazy stranger! Did I mention he also got a specialist to look into her condition? I didn’t even want to travel that period because she was sick but he insisted that I did. It was on that trip I met my godsent husband. How much more of a blessing could a stranger be?

My major memorable stranger. When I was young I was overcome with suicidal thoughts and running wild. I was tossed everywhere and everywhere I went there would be tales of abuse and maltreatment. In fact, that month I was returned from the US by an aunt who used me as a maid and whose husband abused me in the worst possible ways for a year and two months. I was a malnourished, damaged, angry, abused teenager.

My maternal aunt everyone claimed to be a childless witch/prostitute in Lagos took one look at me when she came visiting home and insisted that I followed her back to Lagos. I had never met her before then but had heard her gist: unmarried, wicked, vain and evil. I won’t have even seen her that day if she hadn’t stop by my grandmum’s place to drop an envelope for the old witch on her way back to Lagos. That was how I packed my small bag and followed her. I thought it would be another stint in hell but boy was I wrong. I call her my mum till date because she’s the only mother I know. The one that birthed me abandoned me and ran abroad with a man to start her actual family.

This woman took care of me and I realised she was just a good hearted woman that got played by a man. He’s somewhat popular today. She took care of me in her apartment in surulere. That time I will misbehave and lash out but she never kicked me out. She would buy jamb forms and enroll me for gce lessons but I’ll dodge lessons and be frolicking with some forever upcoming actresses. Lol. Some brain resetting slaps were received once in a while though.

Some years later she got cancer and I felt I would die. We both spent all we had till events happened that led up to me meeting my stranger helper turned father figure. Those that professed love for me and wave cheques of N500k in my face were no where to be found in my actual time of need.

Let me stop here. Today we are doing extremely well and she’s somewhat got her health back. For all her sacrifices and labor of love, I’ve made sure that she didn’t regret them. My kids call her grandma and I call her mum. I do for her even more than I do for myself.

I know the post said stranger but these two people were strangers that touched my life and are now family to me. God will bless and protect all those who go out of their way for people they don’t even know and don’t stand to gain from. This post really touched me.

  46. It was way back in 2013,I went to my Dad's office and our discussion turned into an argument. As I walked out of his office I just started crying, don't know why cos our argument wasn't that serious but I guess it was pregnancy hormones cos I was pregnant then. From crying, I started peeing on my jeans. Mehn it was so embarrassing but one Corp member names Divine (God bless her) came and gave me her scarf to cover myself and even put me in a cab. As I entered the cab, the main tears began for no reason

    2. Was coming from a friends house and the cab driver said his cab was spoilt under adekunle bridge. This was about 7pm. A car stopped and 2 guys came down and offered me a ride to my house. They said they used to see me In my area and they stay around there. I had never seen them b4 and was scared. They stayed and persuaded me while the cab driver and area boys were shouting at them to leave. I weighed the options and went with them and looking back saw the cab driver start his car and go. The boys said they just saw me and recognized me and said it was a scam with the taxi guys to take girls and rape and leave under the bridge. They took me straight home. I was so grateful. Pls those 2 guys from Mende Maryland wherever u are thank u.

  48. I've had many but the biggest one was when a total stranger took me as her sister and made life easy for me in school.
My name was not on the first list, so when I heard the second list was out, I was on my way to the school when I met this lady in the bus. We got talking and she told me she was also in my school but had been there for three years. She followed me to where the list was, my name was not there. She felt for me. Took me to the Admin block and introduced me to someone, she told this man that I was her younger sister and he should help me, I later gained admission without any settlement. That day, she asked if I had where to spend the night, I told her I did not know anyone in the town. She took me in, introduced me to everyone as her sister. I lived with her in her apartment free of charge, ate free food and all for two years. When she graduated, she transferred her apartment to me. I lost her contact when I lost my bag containing my phone and diary a few months later. If it were to be now that we have Facebook, Instagram and the rest, I would still be able to contact her.

Aunty T, I still pray for you whenever I remember you. May God send help to you whenever you need one. May total strangers arise for you and your generation anytime you are in need. I am teary now.
I will write about my journey in school someday....soon.

  50. I went to PH to for an impromptu interview....i lost my purse in the bus as I came down. I just stood on the road and started crying..All the money I had and some of my credentials were in it...it was my first time in PH and I didn't even know my friend's house I was going to.

Then a young man just came to me and started talking to me. He encouraged me and promised to help me. He even followed me back to the park as we went to look for the bus and driver. We couldn't find them... The hold up that day was something else.
He later helped me locate my friend's house and gave me some cash on.
He was like an angel that day. I don't know him and I lost his contact....May God continue to bless you.

I have enjoyed the goodwill of alot of people and I try to give back at any opportunity I have.

I was diagnosed of asthma and was going to work the following morning, this man gave me a ride, my then boyfriend called and i explained the result of my test to him in yoruba, this man that gave me a ride doesnt understand Yoruba but he heard asthma and asked me who has asthma, I told him its me, he counselled and encouraged me, told me he only gave me a ride and I should keep my money, months later we met and he gave me a ride again for getting who I am, I reminded him, we exchanged numbers and he has been an adopted uncle to me. Paid part of my school fees, tips me money, set up a business for me when I lost my job before we were reinstated, linked me with someone that helped me with my final year result in school and many more, Mr Alphonsus may you and your generations to come receive timely help, favor and mercy.

Years ago, SDK wrote about a boy named Sehinde and was willing to help him but distance was a barrier,so she asked for Bv's who reside in the town to go and find out about him,I volunteered with another Bv and we searched and located the boy, SDK sent us money to buy stuff for the boy and not only that, she gave me and the other Bv 20k each, we never expected it at all, even my mum was surprised by the wonderful act,she prayed continuously for SDK, that money really helped me that moment ,I won't forget .

The nicest act from a stranger was from this blog. These ones are even stranger than strangers because we did not even see each other's faces except for Stella's face that I have seen in pictures. None of these angels have ever seen my face before yet they have been so kind to me with cash gifts. I say may God reward you all a million times and may you never be abandoned when you need help the most. None of your loved ones shall lost their spouses at a young age in Jesus name. Amen.

  57. Mine happened during my undergrad years; I went to braid my hair and came back very late because the hair-braider was very slow. I was so hungry and by the time I got to my school area, the school bus has stopped running. This was around 1am and I stayed very far; I had no money so I was relying on the school bus for free transport. Just as I was contemplating on how I will walk the long distance being a female, a car pulled up with 4 Black American guys.

They asked why I was still on the street and if they could give me a ride; I was so scared because of the 'bad rep' Black American men have but I prayed silently and joined them. That car trip was very funny and relaxing; they could sense I was on high alert, so they started cracking jokes while also assuring me that they won't harm me.

They told me they were heading to a club and they saw me across the street, so they decided to check on me since they have sisters. True to their word, they dropped me at my place, made sure I got in safely, and left. I Thanked them with a Huge Smile on my face!

That act of kindness made me drop the bad habit of judging people by 'what people say'.I pray that God Bless the 4 of them where ever they are because I never saw them again.

  58. I had a flat tire on the freeway. Broke and not a member of AAA, I was devastated. A white truck pulled up with 2 young, bald white males looking like KKK members. I was scared but remained calm. Out of hopelessness, I agreed to join them to get me to a safe destination. They took me to a tire shop, bought a tire for me, brought me back on the freeway, changed my tires and bid me good bye. The only thing they gave to me was a flyer to their Christian Church in Orange county. As a Blackman, I was shocked.

Made sure she followed the car to where they were doing their inter-house sport and spoke to a teacher before leaving.. May God bless her...

  60. Can I even exhaust this? The number of strangers I've met in this world who have been sources of blessings to me are so many but there's a particular one that stands out. So, I was on
a journey from the north to Lagos. I had paid the exact bus fare and was left with just enough money to see me to my doorstep when I arrive Lagos. But along the line, our bus broke down late in the night just within Niger state, I was completely stranded as the driver refused to give us back some of our money so we could look for another vehicle. I was scared, tired and famished. Along came this truck used in transporting animals to Lagos, and all of us who didn't have money hopped in. At that time, the arrival of the truck was a miracle. On getting to Lagos, I realised that I didn't have a dime left on me to take me home. I stood at the garage in Pen Cinema for about 3 hours and I kept wondering how I was going to beg for money. For the first time in my life, I prayed like never before. Then I saw this driver eating in a corner, I did a quick assessment of his meal and there were varied assorted and then I began to think that if he could afford such a meal then surely he could have some money to spare. But the real problem was, how do I walk up to him. By the time I had mustered enough courage, he was almost done eating. Without me saying a word he asked me where I was going. He took me to where I was going to get a bus going my direction, paid my bus fare and still gave me money just in case of any eventuality. I was overwhelmed by his act on kindness, I found help in the least expected place. I still find time to say a word of prayer on his behalf.
