Cultists Sack Two Communities In Rivers State....

Cult gangs have continued to run riot in Khana Local government area of Rivers state despite appeals by stakeholders and re-enforcement of police personnel....

Two communities in Bangha clan, Khana Local Government Area were sacked over the weekend by suspected members of rampaging cult gangs in the area.

Sources say cult gangs invaded Luu-Mene community, killed unknown number of persons, destroyed houses and beat up the Paramount Ruler, identified as Mene BARISUA, and then extended their attack to Kere-Bangha community where they also committed arson.

An indigene of Kere-Bangha, Lucky Deekae, who confirmed the attack, said several inhabitants of his community and their neighbouring Luu-mene community fled their homes for fear of reprisal attacks.

Meanwhile, the Rivers state Police Command has denied that the number of casualties recorded in the attack in communities in Khana LGA was high.

Spokesman of the Command, DSP Nnamdi Omoni was reacting to reports that 16 persons lost their lives in the gang attack on the two communities.

Omoni, in a statement made available to DAILY POST, said the figures being bandied in some sections of the media, is fake news capable of stirring disaffection and causing panic and tension in the State.

However, while confirming the incident, Omoni stated that three persons were killed in the two attacks but officers were able to capture two suspected cultists; thirty-three-year-old, Demwua Karagbara and twenty-three year Old, Dinee Prince.

*How is this different from boko haram activities?

  1. Boko haram is a national disaster, cultism is state and community disaster. Cultism attack are their rivals and people they think are blocking their road. Bokoharam attack people that don't even know about their existence.

    1. Exactly, though the end result is the same which is killing. Cultism can be managed and control unlike Boko Haram.

  2. Cult boys in Rivers state will not go and fight national fight for Nigeria and be useful. It's just to destroy their communities and kill family members of their rivals. Sigh.

  3. When will these Ogoni communities be freed from this cult related violence? This is becoming worrisome and tiring. So unfortunate, some innocent ones may be caught up in this violence. Is there truly a place safe in Nigeria at the moment?

The rate of cultism in Rivers State is alarming, that almost every street and community has a cult groups terrorizing. Bad enough, they now attack any young guy they see believing he belongs to a rival group.

  7. You didn't add Aluu that residents have deserted cos the bad boys can come and rape everyone in the family. Rivers State is a disaster, never again will a street man with many political enemies rule a State. Emeoha nko na another day. Everyday in Ph you must hear one bad news and in UST there must be shooting. May Rivers State not be deserted like Bayelsa State cos of insecurity.
