Eating/Dinning Etiquette

Did you know what these different cutlery setting stood for?

Did you also know that when you are in a Restaurant (Abroad, don't know about Nigeria) and you are given the menu to order, until you close it and place it on the Table,no one will approach you to take your order....

I have learnt a lot of things on how to behave at the eating table and some of these things that one must not do would shock you....that is for those who do not know...

Who has learnt new Table and eating behaviour?

That's one of the reasons I like home. You see food, you chop. No time to dey do calculation. Persin
go solve the food like further maths before she go chop?

    1. We are in the same WhatsApp group Sandy. I just ask for fish when I'm outside so that I don't show myself.

I have tried several time to order take outs so that I can try the fork and knife thing at home, it works at home but when I get outside, my village people still always make me show myself 🀣🀣🀦‍♀️🀦‍♀️

  3. I don't really care for cutlery setting so long as i'm using the right fork. Lol

One thing i NEVER do is use the cloth napkins, i always ask for paper napkins. I ll be damned if i wipe snot remnants or spittle across my lips using a napkin that isn't properly washed. 🀒🀒

  7. Reminds me of a program I saw on BBC Lifestyle yesterday 'feeding the filthy rich' or so where a woman from Uzbek abi Russia actually employed the service of a trainer on etiquette for drinking tea like a proper English woman. Things they tale serious over thereπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  9. Both my parents were in the hospitality industry when I was young so I learned all this and I really don't care about it much today. I know all the rules and protocol, and it is just a waste if time. Food should be enjoyed and ppl should be eating completely relaxed and at ease, not having to think and remember they don't forget one step. I am not saying you should eat like a pig eating from a trough, but ease up on all these rules. Some of them are not even practical or realistic in the current society.

  11. You mean eat amala, abula and orisirisi with fork and knife? Waht of ofe nsala? Abegi, these people just keep enslaving us- Language, food, wardrobe (including weavon and wigs) etc. Which one exactly is our culture and when will they themselves start appreciating us and our ways? Let them learn to use their hands to eat banga and starch too, mtcheews.
