IPOB Deputy Leader Okafor-Mefor Tells UK Show Host That Attack On Ekweremadu In Germany Was Family Affair

On Thursday August 29,2019, Mr Uche Okafor-Mefor, the Deputy Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, otherwise known as IPOB, appeared on BEN Television's popular interactive programme, "Rose on All Sides."

Okafor-Mefor spoke on various issues concerning the emancipation of IPOB, the attack on former Senate leader, and their conviction that the person acting as the president of Nigeria is an impostor.


In the hour long interview, viewers from around the globe called in, to air their opinion on the topic being discussed.
While some pitched their tents with the erudite IPOB deputy, others vehemently disagreed with him.


Interestingly, Mefor, claimed that the attack on Ike Ekweremadu was/is a family affair that they do not intend attacking any other politician outside the eastern states.


The interviewer, Rose Peter-Graham, further asked the reason why the organisation believes that the sitting President of Nigeria is an impostor. Mesor's response was that there are empirical evidence to support their claim. Furthermore, he feels insulted and dismayed that members of the organisation are being called miscreants and have been labelled terriots while the arms carrying Fulani Herdsmen in the northern part of Nigeria are being supported by the federal government in their gruesome acts of killing, maiming and raping of mothers and daughters in Biafra land and of course, other parts of the country. "They are being equipped by faceless persons to continue the genocide they started during the civil war. Even Reverend Fathers now are not spared", he cried.


When Graham asked, if IPOB would consider appearing in a round table discussion, if initiated by the powers that be in Nigeria, he responded in the affirmative that they would send a delegation; however, it wouldn't change their stance on Biafra.


He maintained that the agitation for Briafra freedom will continue.


Hear him:"We have exploited all avenues for dialogue. We have reached out but they have deliberately sidelined my people and those who should protect our interests are sleeping, hence, our continued struggle ".


Also in the Interview, Mr Okafor -Mefor emphasized that the word "attack" is always exaggerated when people talk about some of the activities of IPOB. "We don't attack anybody. If pelting somebody with egg is called an attack then what does shooting with AK47 called? We are concentrating on our own first; those who propagated operation python dance and those who work against Biafra and inflict injury on Biafrans.We don't rule out picketing or protesting against any Nigerian politician especially those in the category I mentioned," he stated.
