As part of this genuine act of giving back to Nigerians back home, shiptonaija.com made a visit to Little Saints Orphanage Home in Lagos Nigeria. This desire to give back was borne out of the fact that these children need all the support they can get when it comes to living a normal life. Children in the orphanage cannot have access to as many luxuries as they want due to so many factors, a greater part of it would be financial constraint.
With the support from her customers in Houston Texas, shiptonaija.com was able to donate items like baby wears, baby diapers, adult shoes and wears, food items and lots more. According to the CEO Nduka Udeh, speaking to one of the Board of Directors of Little Saint Orphanage, he says ‘‘our giving back to Little Saint Orphanage is recognizing that we have been empowered to empower others. Deep down inside, we all want to feel that we contributed, added value and add some kind of meaning and purpose in our lives. This visit is to contribute our quota to the lives of these children with the donation made by our customers in Houston and in our own little way, we shipped these items which took about two containers for free and also cleared them for free’’
He goes further to suggest that Nigerians in the USA should consider giving back to Nigerians back home. He says that ‘‘If you are a Nigerian in Houston and you have that nudging feeling to give back to Nigerians back home, whenever you are ready, you can come drop the items in our office in Houston and we will do our own part by shipping the items to Nigeria for free.
