WASC Brouhaha -Court Carries Atiku's Suit Against President Buhari And Throws It Out

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, on Wednesday, struck out the argument by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, on the educational qualification of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Muhammadu Buhari.

The court held that as against the argument by Atiku and the PDP, President Buhari was eminently qualified to contest the last election.

The court said evidence presented by Atiku and PDP even showed that the APC candidate does not only have a West African School Certificate (WASC), but also possesses more academic qualifications that made him over-qualified to run in the election.

The court also ruled that as against the petitioners’ claim, there is no iota of falsehood in the affidavit of personal information submitted to INEC by Buhari before the election.

The court held that the PDP and its candidate failed to prove their claim that the APC candidate was not qualified to contest the election.

With the ruling, Atiku and the PDP have lost in their petition against Buhari’s eligibility to contest the 2019 election over failure to present WAEC Certificate which is one of their strong points.

  8. We all know that the judiciary in Nigeria is not an independent body. One can never get Justice from a judiciary that gets its salary from the government especially When your case is against the government.

The whole tribunal is just a sham,No judge will rule against the president that pays his salary and holds the key to his/her career elevation.
Buhari will win based on this.

    1. Was Buhari not the president when APC was declared not to have candidates in Rivers and Zamfara states elections?

Check facts of the case. Law does not recognize transmission of election results to any server, the exam body said Buhari has certificate, Atiku failed to prove that security agents rigged the election for Buhari etc... I used to do sentimental arguments but Ive since grown out of it

  10. What I want to know is what other qualifications does buhari have that makes him over qualified for the seat of the presidency. Common entrance exam or what?

    1. Be there and be asking for his qualifications. Go and read shut him instead of sitting behind your phone asking foolish question.

    2. Buhari as a retired General, he must have passed Staff College which is more or equivalent to Waec. Even as a former Head of state, his experience is more than enough to qualify him to be president

  14. So this 'alternate president' really expected a whole court of law to take him seriously. Men and their egos turning them into fools since forever. Dude, accept that you are not the president and move on with your life. Go try to make president in heaven, that is where is real power is anyway.
