Then I will go into serious prayers and ask God to scatter the plan and remove the bail that the woman and her village people used to cover his face because knowing the kind of man my hubby is, it is only if he is jazzed that he will think of such.

  19. Oh my God! he dare not try that. First and foremost, I will mention the consequences to him quoting Bible scriptures to back me up. Then if he still wants to go ahead with his plans I have no option than to make sure he won't see any money to perfect his plans.

Come to think of it, it is unbeliever that will think of marrying a second wife and I can't marry an unbeliever.

  25. Truth is a lot of you saying no don't really have a choice. In Nigeria, it's a man's world. Ya'all keep saying no but these men (Christian men inclusive) keep marriying more than one wives and keeping multiple cuncubines and mistresses

    ReplyDelete

    1. That is the truth. Some women are even happy to marry a man as sixth wife. Why will the men stop when there are any number of women who are willing to marry an already married man. Worse if the man is wealthy first wife will turn a blind eye and accept her fate as the price she has to pay for living in the lap of luxury.

Historically in the human journey polygamy was tested for many hundreds of years and it didn't work out in most cases. It led to a lot of infighting, hatred, and division along family lines, it did more harm than good. Most countries realized it was not a realistic model and made it illegal. I ain't interested in going back in time to try out what is already dead and buried. Good luck to those women who have to live this way.

  37. I will divorce him but agree to co-parent our children amicably. I will never be that woman that a man will sleep with another and come sleep with me too(to my knowledge). That's is why being financially independent should be a pre-requisite to marrying a Naija man and also having the number of kids you only can adequately cater for in case things go south. It is only God that can never disappoint so at any stage of a marriage be fully prepared whilst putting your trust in God.

  39. Okay let me tell you a story. My mom's friend shared her experience when her husband wanted to take a second wife. She's a Muslim and married her husband when he had nothing then he gained prominence and became a VC in one of the universities. Suddenly, husband of over 30 years discovered he needed a second wife.
She said since the religion permitted it, she didn't argue or complain. She threw herself fully in the wedding preparations, the new bride had just graduated from the university like her last born'so age mate. She was wondering how someone younger than some of her children will become a rival. She embraced the new wife and everyone was amazed at her behaviour.

Wedding day came and everyone got dressed and got to the venue, only for the nikah to start and the bride dressed in her bridal finery to say she's not interested in the marriage. They begged her, cajoled her, she adamantly refused saying the groom was too short and she can't marry a short man😁😁😁. During dating/courtship you didn't know he's too short? When you were getting ready for the ceremony you didn't know? My mom attended the wedding and came back to tell us she has never experienced something like that. The wedding didn't hold and it's been over 10 years now. Needless to say Alhaja is still without rival. She didn't tell us what she did, she just smilled that after all her suffering a girl with "toothpick legs" will swallow her investment, impossible!

True life story: Hubby told me he wants to try another woman because we have been married for 10yrs without a child. I didn’t argue with him, I said no wahala and we went our separate ways a year ago. Btw, doctors said we are both okay medically.
