Army Recruit Killed By Lover

A female army recruit, Patience Amos Ya'u has been murdered by her lover in his one room apartment two days before she could commence training in the army.

The incident occurred in Damilu, a community in Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

Twenty-three year old Patience visited her boyfriend, Ali Muhammed Wakil (whose claim to being an army personnel is yet to be verified) and according to neighbours' reports, they heard noises from the room of Wakil but never perceived anything had gone wrong until after three days when the overpowering stench from the room prompted the neighbours to break in and found the decomposing body of Patience.


The neighbours reported the incident to the palace of the ward head and the police got involved. The father of the diseased was traced to Bachure, a community separated from Wakil's compound by a major street. He revealed that his daughter told the family she wanted to plait her hair but did not return home and her number when dialled was switched off. 

Wakil has since been arrested and is being interrogated by the criminal investigation department (CID).
