Labour Room Drama 278

Wahala dey!!!

I’m beyond happy writing my LRD story here cos I never thought I would....

After waiting 5 long years to conceive I finally got pregnant ......,

my pregnancy was uneventful, i was full of life, no morning sickness, no tiredness, i was just glowing! I had just back pain and heartburn at the later stage, my EDD was August 22, 2019,...i went for antenatal a week before my day of delivery and my doctor asked if i was feeling anything unusual like pain in my under belly that comes and goes and i said no, he said I should return in 3 days if nothing happens so i get induced but when nothing happened after 3 days i refused going cos i wanted to pass my EDD....

I was scared of inducement as my hubby who is a doctor told me it’s a little bit more painful than normal labour,... my baby kept moving unusually hard a day to my EDD and i lost appetite that day and i kept wondering why I didn’t eat so much owing to the fact that i ate like a cow from day 1 of my pregnancy::

At about 9pm that day i told hubby i was having cramps like period pains that was a bit severe that comes and goes and he said it might be Braxton hicks, i got up to heat food in the microwave and i felt water trickling down my legs, i called him and he said ''your water just broke, you’re in labour!

He quickly started packing my stuff to the car and i asked him to wait till when i start having more contractions, i wore my clothes and started walking round our compound, he was surprised i was so calm, the pain started intensifying and we decided to go to the hospital at 1am..

I was checked and told i was 2cm, they gave us a room and hubby immediately laid down on the extra bed in the room and started snoring, i was very angry that he was not awake to calm my nerves, i was in pains till 6 am when they came to check me, i was now transferred to the labour room where a doctor came to completely break my water (ahhh very painful) and was administered the dreaded pitocin, that was the beginning of pain i never envisaged was in existence in this life::

The drip finished, i was checked and i was just 4cm, another one was administered, that was when my mum arrived, i held her, pinched her, hugged her, she rubbed my back till it almost peeled, I began throwing up uncontrollably (i never vomitted while pregnant) i was weak, drained and in pains, it was 4 pm the pitocin drip was finished but i was still 4cm, ahh, I couldn’t hold it anymore, I started crying, all the while i was only groaning, reserving my strength to push, the pain was unbearable, i was seeing myself in the clouds already...

The 3rd pitocin was administered, i was telling myself i would die, the pain was on another level, an hour an half into the drip i was still 4cm, doctor came and said the labour wasn’t progressing and my BP was dangerously getting very high, he advised we go for a CS to save baby and i, we quickly signed and the CS was done, within 7mins my baby was out screaming her lungs out, she came at 6.30 pm after 18hours of labour and on my EDD:::

I was relieved and started thanking God, i sat up to breastfeed my baby an hour after the CS despite feeling so sleepy, everyone including the doctors were surprised, i was moving around the next day like nothing happened, I didn’t feel the pain of CS everyone talks about, my wound was healed in 7 days and never felt any pain even 5 months after, God is good, I would do this all over again. Pic for your eyes only.

*huh?you didnt feel any pain and would do it again?my dear you be super woman because the pain of CS almost killed me,it was so horrible,i cry when i remember...what!!!

Congratulations, your baby is the most beautiful i have seen after mine....

  1. Congrats ma'am... I thought you have to stay in bed for 24hrs without raising your head if it's c.s delivery? How come you were able to stand up to breast feed after one hour?

    1. That's if its she spina anaesthesia but to talk about feeling sleepy, I guess she was given general anaesthesia.

    3. even with spinal anaesthesia you do not have to stay in bed for 24hours. the best way to recover is to get up as soon as pissible

    4. Stella CS is not painful. The pains you had were from gas! I don't understand why doctors don't emphasis on this. The poster didn't eat that day which is the best way if you want to avoid gas complications and the excruciating pain it causes. The gas even travels and you feel the pain at different parts.

  3. I think people's experience of CS varies. I couldn't even cough or laugh after mine and getting off the bed was a chore. I was encouraged to walk around the day after and I found carrying anything hard. Despite everything my next child na CS straight. I like having my toto un stretched.

  10. I don't know why people say CS is easier, had a vaginal delivery for my first two kids n then an emergency CS for the third.the recovery of cs is terrible. The pain is even worse than labour pain.i will choose vaginal delivery over cs anyday
