US Imposes Immigration Restrictions On Nigerians

US president, Donald Trump, has imposed a visa ban that ensures immigration from Nigeria is no longer possible.

Citizens from Eritrea, Myanmar and Kyrgyzstan, won’t also be allowed to apply for visas to immigrate to America under the policy.

The Trump administration has taken this decision to tighten security for countries, that don’t comply with the U.S. minimum security standards or cooperate to prevent illegal immigration.

Sudan and Tanzania will be barred from participating in the diversity visa lottery, which randomly awards green cards to 50,000 immigrants annually.

The new restrictions take effect on February 21 and will apply only to new visa applications.

Immigrants, who were issued valid visas before that date, will still be able to move to the U.S.

  3. This doesnt come to me as a shock.
When the foolish set of humans started that protest in Abuja voicing solidarity with Iran, even ripping the US flag apart & setting it ablaze, i knew Nigeria will get punished for that somehow.
Trump has always been very blunt and a zero tolerance mindset.

How low these folks IQ! When will they know it's brain power over physical muscles.

  13. Well. Initially they had some countries in mind but I am sure Nigeria was added without missing any beat. It serves us right.
When people will not do the right thing they right way. How can you decide to stay permanently in another country without proper papers?

Now all those people that are filing for their families under the immigrant visas are highly affected. They shouldn’t just waste their funds.

Parents, partners, spouses, other family members aside from this are affected.

However it does not affect tourist visas. But that does not mean that they will not clamp heavily on visa refusals this period till Trump stomps out.

Those that already have their immigrant visas issued are safe to go ahead. Others are just wasting their time, at least for now.

Not to talk of those idiots in Abuja that were protesting in solidarity to what nonsense again?
The government I am not sure came out to condemn their acts of foolishness.

If you do anyhow, Trump will show you anyhow. The anyhow has finally come.

    1. Thank you Shyla. This is what happens when people will not migrate legally. Now those who had the chance to migrate for genuine reasons like joining their spouse or their family are affected. I remember vividly the chronicles/series of that Nigerian lady that was proudly celebrating illegal immigration to the US. I cannot recall the exact title of the posts. Those of us that spoke against it then were chastised by some BVs. People think USCIS is not aware of these illegal immigration tactics that Nigerians employ.

    1. Trump is daft really? For protecting the security of his country wooow....anyway it is their effing country so they can effing do what they please with their visa....and decide who to let in...na their country, their choice...live with it...

    2. Trump daft? So you didn't hear that they have been stamping no adjustment of status on people's passport before you enter us. So it means even if you overstay, you are stuck for life and the only option. Is to leave by yourself in which you can never come back for overstaying.

  17. I won't even bother myself applying so no one chops my visa fees. My 5yr UK visa is there. What am I looking for in US. Plenty countries to visit in Europe, Dubai is also there.
I get people for Canada when I want to have my 2nd baby. First baby already has U.S. passport.

  18. why are they still refusing visas when they are still going to include no adjustment of status to it, they should remove their embassy from Nigeria cs they can't be exploiting us through non immigrant visas after banning green card routes
