Fourteen New Coronavirus Cases Confirmed In Nigeria

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced in a tweet on Thursday night that Nigeria has recorded 14 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 65.

A breakdown of the number of the additional cases showed that 12 new cases were discovered in Lagos while the remaining two were confirmed in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Six of the cases were detected on a vessel and three others were returning travellers into the country while the remaining case was a close contact of a confirmed case.

  3. It keeps increasing, God please have mercy on us. Are the borders not closed again? As I wish there should be total lockdown to curtail the virus, how would most people that earn income daily survive?

    1. My dear the Virus already is in Naija. In all Nigeria has not even tested 400 people and is recording such numbers. That means in reality theres nothing less than 200 to 500 cases unknown. We should be more concerned now about within our borders than without. IT IS REAL. STAY SAFE

  6. If the whole Nigeria were to run a test, you all will be looking for holes to enter. Why are there no facilities for test in every state? Why is the country not on total lock down?
The Ncdc boss said on TV that no one should come for testing when they haven't felt any symptoms that the don't have enough facility in place to test everyone. Can u imagine! What about the people who have it and are currently spreading it without even showing any symptoms. Is only God that will help us.
Other better countries are on total lock down, Nigeria that doesn't have common case mask are still walking about.

    2. No country in the world is making attempt to test all their citizens. Only the very sick and those who had contact with a confirmed case are tested in most countries. Here in Nigeria most of those who had contacts with confirmed cases are refusing to come, endangering the lives of their families and friends

    3. You cannot test everyone. Most countries don't even have the resources or means to test everyone. If you develop symptoms, you give them a call and they tell you what to do. If you fall very ill, you go to hospital and they test you.

A lot of NHS staff have not been tested and it is believed some of them have the virus.

    1. They were already in the country before the airports were closed. The seaports were not closed till yesterday and it is not absolute closure. Ships that sailed 14 days before the closure order will be allowed to berth. Ships carrying medicines and fuel will be allowed to come in

    1. You are sick , people are working endlessly to preserve our lives and all idiots like can think is condemnation. They are only testing the very sick and those who had contact with confirmed cases. Just like every other country. Only South Korea did mass testing. Germany just started their mass testing, their plan is to test 500,000 people per week. America the so. called greatest Nation on earth is testing only the very sick, they are not even doing contact tracing according to New York times. China with a population of 1.6 billion people only had 81,000 confirmed cases,
