LG Electronics Organises OLED TV Gaming Challenge....

On Saturday, February 2019, LG electronics, the undisputed leader in electronic products took the gaming experience of it’s consumers to another dimension as the company organized a one of a kind OLED TV Gaming Challenge at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.






LG prides itself as the first electronics brand to single-handedly launch a gaming challenge with unlimited Tv experience and 3 core technology, making it one of the biggest e-sports competitions in Nigeria for game lovers. It commenced in 2018 which marks the first season of the competition for gamers. The gaming contest has since then been held intermittently for game lovers to show their gaming prowess, to experience the top notch features of OLED Tv and contend with one another for various mouth watering prizes.






The guests were wowed with its newest OLED TVs which offers a brilliant speed, “clearer and smoother” gaming experience. The LG Tv is the first and only Tv that has NVIDA’s G-Sync features that makes you enjoy fast games with clear and smooth images, giving eye comfort to its consumers.

The event was hosted by VJ Adams and the contestants- winners of the previous six seasons competed fiercely for the grand price which was an OLED 65 inches TV and a cash prize of N1m, with 2nd place and 3rd place winners going home with N300,000 and N200,000 respectively.


Nigerian singers Vector and Praiz, were also paired with the contestants as “celebrity players” to spice up the event. Also in attendance was Ninalowo Bolanle, Nollywood actor and filmmaker.

G-Sync and other VRR technologies help eliminate flicker, tearing or stuttering on displays when used to play games that are built using VRR”.


Mr. Vanjamin Kim, the General Manager, Home Entertainment Division, LG Electronics West Africa, said the initiative is for lovers of video game to demonstrate the beauty and the uniqueness of the ‘depth of black’ in OLED TV, especially when gaming on it. “We intend to have more of this kind of gaming challenge to engage more of our consumers who love gaming. It’s an avenue to reward our customers and promote LG OLED TVs as the best TV for gaming. With exceptional picture quality, low input lag and an ultra-fast response time, LG OLED TVs have already earned a reputation for delivering an optimized gaming performance”, he said. “With the G-SYNC firmware there is no lagging, tearing or stuttering while playing super-fast Games and watching fast moving contents”, he stated.

The overall winner of the competition, Junior Imaji, who will also be representing Nigeria in an international gaming competition soon said, “ It was quite a tough and interesting battlefield but I am happy to emerge as the winner. The one million naira cash is the in-thing and the OLED TV is dope! I hope this platform that LG has created for gamers continue to grow stronger and birth more opportunities for professional gamers and amateurs”


The OLED TV Gaming Challenge has been held in different locations across Nigeria – Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan and Port Harcourt and the Grand Finale ended in style as winners praised LG for creating such mind-blowing platform for gaming and TV lovers. The guests were also not left out as they won different items ranging from OLED TVs to Xboom sound systems via raffle draws.
