Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State, has announced a total lockdown of the state, with effect from 12 midnight, Thursday 9 to 15 April, 2020.

The Governor said the aforementioned action was based on government’s plan to fumigate the entire state, which will commence on the April 9.

Lalong, who is also the Chairman of COVID-19 Task Force Committee in the state, maintained that, “During this period, there will be no movement of any kind except for staff on essential duty. These include:
security agencies; medical and health workers; power and energy staff; fire service; media; telecom operators; fuel tankers,” he stressed.

The Governor also assured the citizenry, that within the week, testing for COVID-19 will commence in the state.

“At this point, let me express our deep appreciation to Corporate organisations and individuals that have so far contributed to the Plateau Covid-19 Endowment Fund both in cash and in kind.”

    1. When this is being done in other countries like China we applauded, because it's now to be done in Nigeria it's excercise in futility. It's high time we learn to appreciate good gestures from government officials. The other states that the pandemic is increasing on a daily basis what else have they done except for the so called lock down which is being flauted?

  4. I don't even understand how an entire state can/will be fumigated. With what? Will that even kill the virus on people that are already infected? What do I know? I just dey observe. My thinking is that this is another means of siphoning state government funds. Bye

    1. Last last eh, there is a high level of dishonesty in this govt.
Few days ago, Senator Dino Melaye released a letter on MTN official letterhead stating the fact that 5G license was granted them, and they will start trial operation in Lagos, Abuja and a couple of other States.
I cannot believe anything this government says.
Some conspiratory theorists claim that the lockdown is used as a guide to deploy the 5G network while people are indoors.....I pray this is not true and that Plateau state is one of the states as released by the released letter. Because I wonder how you will fumigate a whole state. To me, it sounds like going to the middle of the road and spraying insecticide to kill mostquitoes.😀😀
To me, everything and everyone from China is guilty and suspect until proven innocent
My prayer only is, if by any means these leaders have sold out and betrayed the nation may the disaster begin and end with them and their children
