Lockdown And Managing Young Children

If you are in the group where you can't take it anymore.....say ''ohon ohon...''
If you are in the group of those wondering how teachers do it,say ''aye aye''

How are you coping with your Children in this Coronavirus lockdown?

Mine is not so bad but my voice is cracked from having to repeat twenty times what i normally repeat five times..lol

To all households with Children this period,I pray that God gives us all the wisdom and Understanding to be able to copy and tutor and correct and scold......

After this isolation or whatsoever, I’ll appreciate my wife the more, imagine my girl emptying a whole hair cream on herself and still coming to share me some in my sleep jeje, this innocent woman has shouted leave there more than 30 times in 5minutes,and me will just put on one yeye suit go out and come back home expecting to eat the meal and still eat the maker of the meal..

“Please, let’s appreciate our wives the more, they go though a lot in our absence…This few days at home seems like I should faint, how much more someone who is always home to put things in place. I tender an unreserved apology to my wife for my previous gragras and shakaras, it’s not easy. Thank you COVID19 for lessons taught.

    1. Pls is yelling and shouting constantly a bad way of training a child? This one gets to my last nerve.

    2. Nice one
But eat the maker of the meal got me laughing 😂😂.
Women are awesome I shudder in awe when people think being a stay at home mom is an easy task.
God bless everyone that's working hard to have a stable home.

    3. Anon. Yelling and shouting is part of it. Especially younger children, if not ehn, they will harm themselves.

    5. 13:17 Nope if that’s the way you get through to them. Although, you shouldn’t make it a pattern because it can easily turn to verbal abuse.

Parenting is shouting 90% of the time if we are being honest.

    8. If you dont shout on many kids they never learn. You dont need to use abusive words but pls just talking at certain age doesnt get across ur point. Most times it is for their own safety. You are going near a burning Gas cooker or playing near boiling kettle and i shld whisper sweet words to you to stop.
Funnily as a child i was seldom beaten but my mama dey shout well dat you will start crying out of fear. And im sorry i do same.

    10. You cant raise toddlers without shouting. I used to call my mother a shouter until i became one myself.
      I have shouted
      Spanked
Forced them to take a nap
      Separated fights and arguments
Received reports from one about the other... (na this reporting dey taya me, "mummy f did this to me" i have said sorry to the other person more than 10times) accepted a lot of apologies
Told them to stand in the naughty conner... I dont taya.
My hubby has been asking why they can't just sit down🤣 and it sounds funny to me.

  3. It is a joyous thing to stay with kids; the simplicity of their hearts and playful nature. They are no more
    toddlers so, I'm coping well.
I have always found time to be with them but even more now. We cook together, play together, pray together, study scriptures together and watch movies together.
Oh my God Chineke, I am waiting for my soccer team to drive them in my coaster bus. 🚍🚍🚐😊😊

they will be smiling... "Hmm mommy is so happy
this morning did daddy promise to buy something for you..."😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

    2. @ simplicity of heart....
One of my nephews did something that warmed my heart lol,
He took asked my mom for candy she asked him to take he took 3 instead of 1 or 2
When he got to the door he said 'grandma I tricked you by taking more than one I'm telling you this cos I have to tell the truth ' my mom laughed so hard and forgot to even caution him,
Well when I was talking to him he said no he didn't cheat , that it was a trick but he told grandma cos he had to tell the truth 😂
And I said to myself if a 5 year old recognises that truth should prevail at all times I've no excuse .

    2. You shouldn't run after them... My friend has two boys 12 and almost 9yrs old, she use to run after them whenever they are fighting and arguing, I advised her to stop screaming and running after them.

Whenever they are arguing, she will just be looking at them or she will continue to do whatever it is she's doing.

The boys play more and argue and fight less now.

Please, let them be but, just make sure they don't throw things at each other.

      Ms.A

    3. Oh goodness! This is so me @Vickyj! I have 2boys 4yrs+ and 2yrs+. They can't play without you hearing them argue! The younger one can so harass the older.

And when you spank or caution any of them, the other will defend saying "please leave my brother alone, abeg"!

This morning I jokingly chatted up their teachers that they should come and pack their pupils o,e don do.

      Biko,teachers are trying honestly!

Some days ago,my hubby said his mouth is paining him. I laughed at him ehn! Shebi he's always saying I shout too much! Kikiki,we are in this forever!

  8. Am really tired. Who will accept my one year old. My hubby finished drinking tea and left it within his reach. Before I knew it, he went there and pour my 1700 naira worth of tea on the ground, licked it then urinated and pooped on the remaining. Am tired. The other boys are outside fighting and settling by themselves.

  9. Aye aye, unfortunately there is no whooping over here,I'm pretending to still be weak so DH is the one parenting, kikiki, I shouted not, cooking basically with combined efforts.
The tomatoes and pepper LO and BEHOLD planted 2days back got washed away by the heavy rain, this morning they found out and cried and cried,me sneaked into kitchen abeg, the other ones are respecting themselves and keeping to instructions pasted on their crib's dashboard, the menu has timetable so no argument on food and drinks,no icecream or blocked liquids so far,Coro is real.

Watched a video of 2kids who lifted the center rug, carried their Daddy's hammer and were crushing the floor tiles happily.
Wetin CORONA lockdown don cause plenty.

    1. Oh, I watched that video too. I felt so bad for the parents of those kids, because they can't do anything to the kids, except maybe to keep them grounded for some days.

Those tiles are not the cheap ones.

Those kids were just playing games

    3. This reminds me of when my children tore grandma's bed and pulled the foam to pieces. Grandma didn't understand what they were saying so she left the room for them. It was when I returned ,I noticed they were dressed in a funny way. They even came to give me some rubbish things as diamonds. When grandma reported to me, they told me they were digging for treasures. That they were pirates.
I was so upset that she allowed them go that far. Then they were 4 & 5.

    4. My own is who was recording those kids and didnt stop them. Having 2/3 boys is smthn else. So far i just have one, cant imagine those with 3.

    5. Honestly the person that recorded the clip didn't do justice to the scene.
We cellotaped most pompom and center rugs because the dogs tend to drag and pull them not knowing kiddies can do theirs too. Safe to always hide toolbox anyways.

@pirates,hahaha Lade I took pepperish soup for dinner,no kill me abeg, hahahaha

  11. It has been very easy for me (its as if God knew and saw everything before hand and He decided to bless me with a child that I don't have to stress over or go overboard to correct)

Sometimes, he wakes up before me, go to the toilet pee and then comes to my bed to wake me up with the loudest good morning mummy...

He has not stopped asking me when he will be resuming school, swimming and playdates though hahaha 😂😂😂

After eating his breakfast, sometimes brunch, he go straight to his pencils and paper and start writing and drawing... Time to read, we read together, he has not started reading like that yet.

He joins me in the kitchen sometimes.
I am very grateful to God Almighty.

He also join me during exercise and mimick whatever it is I'm doing.

    We dance on weekends
    Life is beautiful
    I am grateful

  12. The bigger boy behaves himself, once he has phone and laptop he is good to go , only to ask, mummy is food ready?. The younger one oh my God always looking for the slightest opportunity to go outside, I made mistake yesterday by asking him to just go in front of the compound to buy recharge card different from the one I can buy with debit card I didn't see him for two good hours no exaggeration. I didn't want to send the bigger boy, I was so angry, after, he sauntered in sweating, where have you being?, he said he was lucky to see some boys playing boy and he joined them. The kind of flogging he got, he cannot sit down through out the evening

  13. Just discovered some things to lessen my shouts
-i give her assignments every morning...She loves writing...so Atimes she can sit for an hour writing numbers or any thing that comes to her head. I don't mind,so long as she's sitting down. it is just my papers that is suffering 🤷
    - just discovered this...i put on music and ask her to dance...she gets tried small after that.

I make her put together everything she scattered. shes beginning to be careful small.it requires shouting to achieve anyway.

  19. I explained what Covid19 is to her and made a time table for her daily activities. She reads her books, recite her multiplication table and solve arithmetic. Then she helps me out in arranging the house. When I'm washing, she washes her panties and little tops. She also plays games on my phone. She doesn't go out except we go together. She looks at my face whenever I'm sad and quiet and tells me not to worry that God will wipe away Covid 19. Lol
When I told her that we should reduce the way we eat so we don't starve before everything goes back to normal, she accepted and would even tell me to reduce her food when I serve her.

  20. Ain't easy abeg. My twin 5 yr old are sure wearing us out. I Don listen to spelling tire. The reporting each other nko? Fighting each other and then ganging up on me. Who did this? Both pointing to each other, her... Who I wan believe? More question Naim go finally bring out the culprit. Early momo they would just jump in our bed and start noise, stay in your room make we sleep small na lie. Just be quiet and no noise na question and answer session. I have answered like a million questions on Corona virus, explained what clothes angels wear, did Jesus have a birthday cake and party pack? The ones I can't answer I will use style to explain away... Lol.. Thank God for internet, at least we fill in with some school work, cartoons and Jesus songs aka gospel music.. Honestly sometimes I dey shout wella cos u go talk the same thing how many times na lie.. Gosh they are so informed these days and know what they like and don't like. I told one she had to wait till she was 18 to start using nail polish, she said mummy that is like a 100 years time... Lol imagine
