This was disclosed by Boss Mustapha the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on the COVID-19 on Friday..
Mustapha said the Life Insurance cover is to the frontline workers, who are fighting the deadly virus
“The premium in the sum of N112.5m for the cover has been fully paid by the Nigerian Insurance Industry in line with the principle of No Premium, No Cover,” he said.
“The PTF wishes to thank the Insurance Industry immensely and calls on other sectors of the economy to rise up to support the efforts to fight COVID-19.
“I also call on our frontline health workers to double their efforts just as we assure them of our determination to protect them.”
from dailypost.
This is good newsssssss.
ReplyDeleteGood move in protecting those that protect us, our Frontline medical personnel. God bless you and your families.
ReplyDeleteThere is acute shortage of PPEs reported across the country. The PTF COVID-19 should ensure that depleted stocks are replenished in a timely manner.
I saw pictures of Navy exhibiting mechanical ventilator. I don't know how efficient it is to the modern ones.
We have a few industrial centres, let's task these companies to retrofit and manufacture these essential equipment.
We have an abundance of talent wasting in Aba, Nnewi, Lagos etc. Why can't the government use this opportunity to stimulate innovation, grow technology, and increase our in-country manufacturing capacity.
So much to digest when the body LUNGS for more
I hope they will implement it
ReplyDeleteThis is very applaudable ππ½ππ½ππ½ππ½ at least they are beginning to listen to health workers.
ReplyDeleteWe also want to hear how the PPE is being managed and shared among the hospitals/health centres assigned to treat people with Wuhan Corona virus.
There should be some form of transparency, because all I keep reading is there are no PPE. So, what happened to all those PPE that has been delivered, some ordered and some gifted by rich civilians.
I hope they are not being hoarded by the wicked, selfish and inconsiderate amongst us.
This is good.May God bless our health workers and protect them from this deadly disease.Amen
ReplyDeleteWow! Nice one
ReplyDeleteNow is the time for innovative Nigerians to be encouraged to develop things that can help fight the Corona Virus. A indian lady invented the COVID-19 testing kit in India which has helped them become less reliant on other countries for testing kits.
ReplyDeleteMay God also protect the hospital personnel from evil relatives who want to harm them because they want to benefit from the Life Insurance. I've watched a murder series that a husband planned his wife's death so he can receive her life insurance benefits
ReplyDeleteI guess the cover will be for Covid deaths
DeleteSo there are only 5000 healthcare workers in Nigeria? Or the rest aren't going to
ReplyDeleteencounter covid?
