Abducted Leah Sharibu's Mum Says She Is Ready To Accept Boko Haram Son In Law...

Rebecca Sharibu, mother of Leah, the Christian schoolgirl abducted by Boko Haram has said that she is ready to have any member of the Islamic terrorist group as a son-in-law if that will ensure the release of her daughter.

Rebecca expressed disappointment with the President Muhammadu Buhari government’s unending negotiation for her daughter’s freedom, which she described as “a scam to satisfy themselves.”

Rebecca said that, “All that matters now is the safe arrival of my precious Leah.”

She said she is now ready to take even an outlaw for in-law, rather than lose her daughter, adding, “You may call him an outlaw, but to me, her husband will be my son. I will take and treat him as an in-law,” as quoted by the Guardian.

Leah has remained in Boko Haram enclave on account of her refusal to renounce her faith even after her fellow 109 abductees were released to their families a month later.

She was the only Christian among the 110 schoolgirls abducted by the Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP) from their school in Dapchi, Yobe State, on February 19, 2018.

Leah Sharibu turned 17 on Thursday, May 14, and marked her third birthday in captivity.

  2. What do you expect the poor woman to say? Anything to get her daughter released to her. As for treating him as an in law, by the time he dies a mysterious death in his next life he won't capture someone's underage daughter and wife her.

  3. I thinks it's the best decision she has taken. Since she cant change the situation, she better learn to accept and live with it.
For all we care,Leah might have fallen deeply in love with her captor.

    5. Your country foots the medical bills of old men but has no sense of responsibility towards young children. That's sad.

  8. So apparently this girls only crime was:
    1,being a Nigerian
2,being a student of that particular school that where victims of the kidnap
    3,Refusing to renounce her faith/Religion.
I really feel for the parents, it's well.

  10. Sharibu should have played a smart one on them by renouncing her faith in order to be set free like her mates, after which she can go back to her faith. Then she could seek asylum in any part of the world.

Why stay back with those monsters, knowing fully well they won't let her off the hook. What was her motive for staying back and what was she trying to prove, or was she playing a game of luck etc.

Can we say she is a fanatic, whose reasoning is the same has her captive. So many questions which only she can answer because once upon a time, the ball was in her court.

Wisdom would have profited her in that scenario. Sometimes, we just have to survive by all means because no one can take away your religion or faith from you no matter how best they try.

    4. That is a huge burden to place on a 14 year old who has shown more strength, faith and loyalty to her principles and to the name of Jesus. Why can't the so called Christian Pastors pray and pay for her release? This npw 17 year old is a HERO and puts us all to shame.

    5. I don't think we should castigate anyone who decides NOT to deny God. I think she did a very courageous thing at such a young age, one not many us can do. Our castigation should be for the Nigerian government.

    6. And you think if she denounced she wouldn't have been killed?.. If you've stayed in the north, you'd know how they think about their religion.

  16. Each time I read the news about this young girl,I weep for the country. The country failed her,our security agencies failed her and the Government failed her.Too bad

  17. My own is that all your Daddy GOs of Nigeria have never for one day fought for her or talked about her. It was just CAN that tried to bring her back but the Buhari govt kept reneging on the deal.

The same energy they used in saving a Muslim girl in Saudi Arabia but couldn't find it to do the same for Leah.

Praying for Leah and her family.
