Coronavirus - Alert On Face Mask

This post is for those of you going around buying locally made face masks, please this is a must read for you.

I am making this into a post so that no one will Miss reading it...

One Blog visitor says....

''I think we should be very careful about the usage of these locally made face masks because of what I saw on Thursday.

I was in a bus where a passenger called a facemask seller. After asking for the price, he took one and put it on. He immediately told the seller that he want to make another choice. He finally paid for one after putting on about 5 different types. I noticed it and told the man the implication of what he has just done and he became so sober.

Even other passengers were looking fearful because what I said was true. Now, what if that man has the virus, he has succeeded in affecting those masks without knowing. These infected masks will be bought by other innocent people. It is also possible that is how these facemask hawkers allow buyers to first put it on before they buy.

There is a high possibility the virus can be spread easily this way. For those of us who patronize these local hawkers, let be careful and vigilant. God will protect us all''

Dear Lord!!!!
I noticed two problems here..
So the lockdown has not been eased and Buses are working?.
Why would anyone allow anyone to hawk face mask?Even the person making it can be infected..if you do not buy face masks that are packaged properly or you did not make the local one yourself,do not accept from anyone no matter how cheap it is....like the complaint up there, you do not know how many people may have tried it on......

    2. Correct point. Even when I make for friends I iron in their presence or ask them to iron before taking it out of my house.
If I'm sending them far, I iron and put in a clear sandwich bag then seal.

  5. These locally made face masks should be properly packaged; each in a nylon film.

They should be buy as you go and nothing like trying it on.

  6. If it's the ones that can be washed and reused, endeavor to wash with antiseptic and iron before use..

  7. Stella, this blog visitor did not do as well as expected. She should have cautioned the passenger the first time and advise him to take the first one he tried and the hawker not to allow people wear before purchase.

    The harm is already done.

Well, other hawkers could be guilty of this. How many could she possibly advise?

    1. The BV tried.👍
She's done her own but, even putting it up for us to read . Let's all pick it up from here and start sensitizing as many people as we can✌️
      Thank you Stella🙏

    2. 10:22, you are right.

However, we need to quit wondering how many we can help. The journey of a thousand miles.....

By the time you do one. I, another. Stella another........ rippling effect, we will get there.

We tend to look at the mountain and give up the climb.

Secondly, except that BV is an essential staff, the BV (hope you see this message) is as guilty as the mask seller and bus driver. What were you doing out during a lockdown order? What part of stay home to stay safe do we not understand?

The next two weeks will be critical but I believe we need to see it before we have a brain reset since we all need evidence. See Kano people now trying to escape from themselves!

      Good luck to us all!

  8. My problem is not the hawking of face masks cos it’s not different from those that will go to shops to buy or those that will tell their tailors to make for them. The problem is the touching and handling.

The key thing is anywhere you get your own face masks, kindly take it home and wash with disinfectant before you wear them. If you must buy in traffic, use your hand sanitizers once you have purchased. Take it home and wash.

As for me, I am making my own face masks. At least I have small materials remaining in the house from tailors.

And this goes for every other person out there, go on YouTube and learn how to make this. You mustn’t have a sewing machine, use needle and thread and start busying yourself.

We all have more than enough time in our hands Biko.

If you are scared of the fancy ones, go and buy the surgical ones in the pharmacies and wear.
