COVID 19 And Re-opening Places Of Worship...

What is your opinion on reopening places of worship?Do you think it is too soon since the virus is still around or do you think it should be re-opened already!

I read somewhere that Pastors are allegedly scared that some people might lose their faith and not return to Church so they want Churches reopened fast...

  1. To me it's better this Covid-19 be totally defeated before they talk of opening anything (church and schools).
Any Pastor having such fears should have been following up on their members with phone calls and chats(since you can't visit anyone).

    1. Truth be told, it will take a long time to defeat it. This thing might be with us for a long time just like other ailments. The solution is to get the vaccine for it and it should be available to all just like treating malaria. We just have to get used to living with it.

  2. The truth is I don't know what to believe anymore. Do we have corona in Nigeria or not?
Me, I just want to get back to work, I'm tired of sitting idle at home & eating from my savings.

  3. Is the time we truly know those that worship God in truth and spirit.
Reopening the church when the virus keeps spreading?
This is the time for all the men of God to join hands and go serious in prayers for God to heal the land.

  5. Religious leaders have failed millions of worshippers!

Many of them have failed to emphasize on the need for personal relationship with God., That is why many are scared that people will lose their "faith" in Church. And that is a lie, people are only seeing them for whom they truly are.

People are losing their trust in pastors and other clerics.

Many of these religious leaders have set out doctrines that will make "their worshippers" to fear them and make them believe that their salvation is only found in church.

Salvation is personal and a personal relationship with God is between you and your creator. Your pastor or any Muslim cleric will not help you see God.

Opening church or mosque when new cases are springing up daily will be a bad decision for the country.

    1. That's just it. The need for a personal relationship with God and constantly developing it is not being emphasized by most church leaders which is such a pity. Without a personal relationship with God, even when people attend churches, they will still be lost. That's the gospel truth.

      Delete
    2. I concur. Some pastors hardly emphasize on that personal relationship with God and certain things Christians should imbibe...

But I pity anyone that makes man his God instead of searching God and knowing Him by him/her self...

    4. Thank you for this great post!! There is this place in the US where one person has possibly infected a lot of people. The salons in Springfield, MO
opened on May 4th after being closed for a month. One stylist at Great Clips Salon came to work “sick” and symptomatic. She infected another stylist and both of them were in contact with 140 people at the salon in 10 days. Those 140 people left the salon possibly exposed and exposing the community at large. People are furious because the stylist knew she was sick and showing symptoms but she said since she was wearing a mask, she thought people would be safe. This is a small town and the residents are in sheer panic. The 2 hospitals in town will not be able to handle a Covid outbreak. It’s not safe yet to be having gatherings anywhere. Some people are wicked enough or stupid enough to knowingly pass this virus on.

  6. This month is almost over, why not wait till next month.
    Too early.

  7. Churches and other places of worship should be opened but in small groups for a start. Modalities should be placed by the administrative unit in various worship centers to help in coordinating various activities to avoid crowded gatherings.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Which small groups?!
How do u pick those that should come to church and those not allowed?
Everyone stay at home, u can hold fellowships in your house and encourage the online services.

      Delete
    2. When I said small groups, I mean service should be divided into four or five sections or even more, having little attendance in each of them. How do you justify markets being opened but churches can't? Aren't markets crowded as well? So if the virus persist till next year, churches should be closed till next year but government agencies, markets and malls should be functioning?

      Delete
    3. Because markets are in the open air and people are not just standing in one place for an hour or more. Churches are enclosed spaces with people breathing the same air next to each other for over an hour...so comparing markets and churches is like comparing apples and oranges.

      Delete
    4. Anonymous 17:25, your reason hold no water or meaning. So what about malls, schools and offices? Are they also having open air?

      Delete
    5. TEEJAY i agree to what you said.

      Delete
    6. TEEJAY you lack comprehension. In the US, the malls schools and offices are closed in most states...so I don’t get your point

  8. That's the problem of those that want to go to church. They should take whatever they see from there.
Their pastors won't get infected, it's them the blind followers that will end up at the hospital if they contract the virus.

    ReplyDelete

    1. So true. They won't get infected. They should better wait for the virus to be defeated before opening schools and places of worship. God is everywhere. Following the western world has never paid us.

God is still on our side in this part of the world let's not take his Mercy for granted.

    2. Blind Don,was it only church you could see in the above photo.
      Ndo! ooo?

      Delete
    3. It's TRUE only the members will get infected, but they will also go and infect other people outside. Reason why the churches must remain closed for now.

      Delete
    4. How sure are that it’s only the members that would be affected by the virus cos you sound as if the various are Anti men of God.

If you’ve had a personal experience with bad men of God that’s your personal business but you always coming at the body of Christ and his ministers is becoming very disgusting and annoying.

  9. I went to church today. Where I stay churches have been declared open. It was so lovely been in the presence of God. My church now celebrates 7 masses on sundays each lasting for an hour. Only two people are allowed in a pew. Everyone must wear face masks and wash their hands before entering the church. The offertory box was passed round with only one usher holding the basket in some parishes, but some stuck to now offertory procession with distancing. No more sharing the sign of peace. The same reason why you need a fan even with breeze is the same reason why true christians enjoy fellowship with others in church. Prayers and choir songs is like oxygen to some of us and it is great news that churches are reopening. Besides, if the government will allow one to go to work for 8hours per day, five times a week, why can't one go the church for just one hour per week? The double standards tho. They should just ensure they comply with safety standards

  10. I wish the medical personnel's will be honest about covid-19 in Nigeria. We visited a supposed isolation centre with almost a hundred patients on paper but Lo and behold we saw not 9 people walking freely in the ward. Living their lives to the fullest. Nigeria my country. Please reopen already. Covid 19 in Nigeria is a big business. What we have is covid 419

  11. Open churches, it doesn’t make sense that they Are closed. Markets and public transportation are fully crowed and busy and yet they are operational. So why close churches that are more important. We need more prayers not less prayers, so why close churches. It’s the duty of people to be responsible for their care n those of their loved ones.. we have to learn to leave with the virus and protect ourselves..

    2. It is you that has refused to use your dormant brain. If people can be allowed to congregate in markets, malls, banks and public buses why can't they worship in churches while adhering to safety standards. You people seem determined to prove that this virus is essentially distributed in churches like holy Communion. Double standards from hypocritical people everywhere.

This virus spreads quickly in such places that’s why Schools got closed. People need to relax. Pray from your houses.

  17. This time is all man for his/ herself. If some people feel they can't do without going to worship centres so be it. Let the worship centres open.

Time will tell if the decision to do so is valid.

  18. Where i stay,Churches reopened last two Sunday but i went today and we are not up to 40 and only 2 people in a sit and you must wear your face mask and before 12noon church is closed..

  19. If you want the church closed then close the market, it's very obvious that social distancing is not observed there. The church can keep to the rules while they worship.

  20. Jesus called just 12 people to be his disciples but true his preaching and staying true to the word of God, multitudes followed him till date.

What am saying is this, any church that is scared of losing members is not truly an house of God unless they are just scared of losing their beneficial gains(TBH), we live in a modern era and any place of worship cam easily reach out to its members through social media of any kind,to just ensure those who are not strong on their own in the spiritual or religion sense do not backslide, only places of essential commodities and things you can’t access while being at home should be open, others can remain close till this life or death situation is solved or defeated simple.

  21. He who is always near the church, is often very far from God.
I just wish the pastors encouraged people to do more prayers and assemble in their homes rather than coming up with their own conspiracy theories.
I’m indifferent about whether it opens or not. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Most important thing is to stay safe, whether in church or not.

  23. Please churches should be opened, sitting arrangements changed. No holding hands for prayers and different services should be done to reduce the crowd. Every market day , you need to see the crowd . So it makes no difference joor.
