COVID 19 - Nigerian Govt Tells Nigerians To Prepare For The Worst

The Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, has told Nigerians to prepare for the worst, even as the Federal Government works to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Ehanire stated this while speaking on Tuesday, during the daily briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.

The Minister urged health workers and citizens to do their best to learn more about coronavirus, even as President Muhammadu Buhari extends the easing of restrictions in Lagos, Ogun and FCT.

“Yesterday, the President authorized extending easing of restrictions in Lagos, Ogun and FCT by another two weeks. The lockdown in Kano was also extended by two weeks, to address remaining challenges to containing the increasing number of confirmed COVID-19 cases.

“It is of great importance that we – members of the health sector and citizens, endeavour to use this period to dedicate efforts to strive for the best, but also prepare for the worst.
As we learn more about coronavirus every day, we must be ready to adjust our strategy, based on knowledge and evidence,” Ehanire said.

    1. When Gates said there might be dead bodies on the streets except more is done, we said, “God forbid.” she was looking beyond what we are seeing. She saw ignorance, a people living in denial, a people who are blinded by religion, ridiculous, contradictory conspiracy theories rather than being guided by the science. People need to wake up. At this time, quarantine, social distancing and proper hygiene should be our way of life.

    2. I hope they are not planning to open schools now with what they are saying. Please they should leave children at home till this is curtailed. With the infrastructure in place in France, all the schools that opened barely two weeks ago have been closed because of infection.

    3. This is not the best time to be a Nigeria, I read somewhere that Rwandan just purchased 5 Roberts that can screen 150 people per minute. Isn't this what my Country would have done in the one month lockdown? Ensure strict lockdown and carry out test, isolate and treat those that are infected, but no, they will rather steal money that they don't need than work for the common good of all.

    8. Thank you Agadi. They are even surprised that our immune system is fighting it so well. If by now no dropping of dead bodies here and there since it came into Nigeria like over there then God is really giving us grace as Africans. Our environment, foods,we being used to malaria, dirty natural resources etc.

It's not a matter of govt hiding numbers of deaths cos this is social media age so it would have been flying around the internet.
Let us do more by strengthening our immune systems with garlic, ginger, vic C,cod liver oil, turmeric, lime, lemon, apple cider vinegar, fresh vegetables, tomatoes, fresh fishes like tuna, salmon, Titus. Anything you can lay hands on all in moderation pls.
Pray to God for grace and healing, remain positive and thankful to God. Control our fears cos it brings our thoughts into manifestation. It weakens the mind and thereby weakens the immune system too. Give our health care workers morale by reducing our criticism, we are Africans and not Americans, British or Europeans.

    11. 8:35, so why are the world's 'most scientific' the worst hit presently, if science is the answer-all? How are u certain that it's not Nigeria's faith in God (indeed, the religion ur like love to attack) that's been keeping the numbers down in the face of diseases like this?

I believe people are just learning to live with it,whatever happens...

All these stories coming from people who were once isolated are not helping matters too.

    God help us.Amen

I wish they can curtail what those that have beaten the virus say,it makes people think that the virus is a hoax and that will increase the spread of the virus.
God of ages past, please help your people.
