In an Instagram live chat with Reality star (former BBA housemate) Uti Nwachukwu, Toke Makinwa opened up about how she was trolled for giving relationship advice after her divorce became final...
In her words;
''Take out the stigma of divorce and take out the shame that comes with this whole divorce thing.
People still troll me about the fact that "you talk about relationships, but you couldn't keep your marriage" I'm like what do you people want from me? If I stay in that situation I would have been called names as well. So I don't know which one people want to pass so many opinions that this happened in my marriage.
You were not in my marriage, but at that time that this happened, every news outlet had a version ,every radio station had a version, everything I read had a version how "She was so dumb", "He didn't love her" "She could have done this, she could have done that".
And it's so frustrating how people have remedy to what they think your life should be like ,but their lives are not even close to being perfect''.

ReplyDeleteYes Toke, if you have the manual of how to grab the perfect husband and live passionately happy forever after, then why couldn't you apply your nuggets of wisdom in choosing a spouse? Or remedying your marriage before it got to breaking point!!! I personally cannot take relationship advice from a divorcee. I can listen if they accept they want to share their experience so I can learn a few things from it.

ReplyDeleteThe thing with toke is that she’s two faced. She dsnt know if she should be a bad bitch or a good good. Thing is I think she wants to be a bad bitch, but her community is not accepting lol....so sometimes she tries to bend for people, that’s why trolling gets to her. But she should know if you put yourself out there, people will talk. People must talk. She likes the attention tho.
Bittered-in divorce syndrome is an abnormal recurrent phenomenon where there are alternate mood of happiness/sadness, loss of memory of bad times/remembrance of good times, depression/elevated mood, ventilating the deep thoughts/storing the deep thoughts, it goes on and on. More common in women because they are weaker vessels that love more with their hearts. Dont judge or say anything bad to a woman who has been divorced, because you may not be able to carry that weight the divorce Carries. Sympathize with them because they wished they could have and remain in a peaceful marriage.
