    3. A parent or both. Look at the story we read today. The Mother, isn’t a good mother and also an enabler.
The Father, tried to correct a child but gets chastised all the time. After sometime, the father, will stop and as the kid grows up, he or she keep doing whatever they like because they didn’t know any better.

    2. @cherry! Its the parent... Because if you discipline them at childhood they will never deviate from what you thought them.

  3. A child chooses his or her path when they come of age.

The choices you make as an adult should all be on you.
So, the person responsible for an adult failure is the adult that have chosen to fail in life.

We future parents really need to teach our children to accept 'responsibility' for everything they do,say or act.that was the mistake of our mothers, that's why we have really badly brought up children.

    3. Very true.

They are kids from good homes that have gone astray, it's unbelievable, while some very very bad background just turn out so well.
Let God take the lead because it is not by our power as parents.

    4. Are you saying that an adult cannot make bad choices because of bad choices made for them as a child? An adult could be a product of his or her childhood. This does not discredit your view but just another perspective.

  5. Some things have been predestined, we can only hope and pray that God backs up our effort. No one is to blame.

Some children have terrible parents, yet turn out fine, while some have very good parents and upbringing yet they are rebellious and notorious.

  7. Actually, the society most times blame women,I mean the mothers for a child's failure. Well,I won't blame either the father nor the mother because a child becomes an adult and as an adult, you know what is good or bad for you when making life choices!

You are responsible for your actions!

  11. Sometimes I'll say the teachers...
My nephew was so scared of school to the point that he'd always fall sick once he knows it's Monday...
His mom would be worried but still force him to go... Finally she asked him what was wrong and he said his teacher... She hates him for no reason and would always shout at him and flog him mercilessly...
So my nephew couldn't complete the alphabets because the teacher never gave him that chance to learn...
But as God would have it, he was moved to a different school... And he picked up immediately... Now his diction is out of this world😘😘
He reads well and if he comes across a difficult word, he doesn't hesitate to ask for help... And once he sees it elsewhere he pronounces it the right way🤗👌

  15. Sometimes some parents dont do enough or pay enough attention to their kids and do the needful to help in their future success...other times some parents have done all they can but some kids no dey hear wordu or get coconut headi (in speedy's voice) hence become the architect of their own misfortune.
There are also times the parents and kids have done all they know to do but situations beyond their control wont let them be great...but when Jehovah steps in, every negative situation or influence gives way...thats for sure!

There are times when I want to agree with this too,but I strongly believe that both parents should be a combined force in the growth of a child🤜🤛

  23. It depends, really. Most people would be fast to blame the parents and quote that "Train up the child" passage in the Bible but I have seen instances where good parents truly did their very best to bring up good, sound children but then one or more of their their children ended up going astray. I have seen really shitty and absent parents have the best, sensible children.

A lot of factors come into play and a huge determinant is actually the child itself, how impressionable they are and their strength of character. That's why it's important to ask God specifically for a good child, not just "God give me a child".

PS: I am not negating the fact that bad parenting can lead to bad children, I am just saying that some times, bad children had really good parents.

  24. Both parents but mothers especially because they are always with the children. Most mothers don't caution their children and when they do, they don't take so serious and pretend like they didn't see their children repeating same thing.

Don't even try to scold or caution any child out there because their mothers will come for you like you did something terrible and tell you to mind your business. Why would I mind my business when your child might end up terrorizing other people's children later if he or she is not dealt with now?

  25. Alot of factors contribute to the outcome of a child.....the parents, society, government, religion even schoool.
I believe what plays a bigger role in the outcome of the child is the environment (society) where the child is raised and the school the child attends.
Peer pressure from these areas can make a child deviate from all the morals he/she has been thought.

    My thoughts tho

  26. It's starts from the home.
How can you call your child "goat, idiot, mumu, you no sabi anything, see your mates, failure, all the harsh words you can think of" cos you were angry and expect the child to do well. Words go a long way to shape that child and chart their course. Parents should be mindful.

See, a positive, supportive and loving environment can help a child a lot. Correct your child but don't let the devil use you to render that child useless. Teach them how to make money, do business, ve a hobby and be passionate about something, be independent quiet early and give them responsibilities.

Society and the government sef follow but it all starts from the home. If you train your child well they won't even look at what government has to offer cos they'll be self made with the right mindset to win.

Above all, teach them how to fight spiritual battles and win. Some misfortunes you need to cast out certain demons.

  37. Parents/the child.
Broken home can cause a child's failure cos of the parents' mistake, which can predispose the child to different vices.
A child can choose a wrong path that can lead to failure during adulthood as a result of peer pressure or societal influence.

  38. I don't really know but I will say is the child. In our family my parents used to fight once in while when we were little. I could remember the day my father hit my mum so hard on the neck that she fainted. She left the house and all of followed her our grand mum place the next day he came with his own bags too and refused to go until we followed him. But we the children for as long as I can remember have never for one day quarrel or exchange words with each other talk more of fight. Even though our parents did but we never learnt that character so it's the child.

Parents please pay attention to what is happening around you. Also learn how to control your emotions so that you can make rational decisions when you need to.
I encourage snooping and asking questions not because I want to cause war/ trouble but because I want to know what is happening around me. That way i can strategize how to correct bad behaviours or make wise decisions. What you do with the information you have matters alot.
