COVID 19 - Schools In Nigeria To Remain Shut,Flights May Resume In 3 Weeks

The Federal Government has declared that schools in Nigeria will remain shut.

The Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 made the announcement on Monday.

The government says it is better to remain cautious as far as schools are concerned.

The PTF explained that the decision followed expert advisory and asked the Aviation industry to develop protocols for the resumption of domestic flights.

The possible date of resumption is June 21.

Furthermore, all interstate movements remain prohibited, but the haulage of goods and essential travels are permitted.

    3. If the numbers are truly escalating, why relax the lockdown?
      Why reopen worship places?
      Why shorten the curfew period?

    4. Kokolet dem no force you relax your own lockdown. If you see the need to continue the lockdown by all means go ahead afterall you are responsible for your own safety.

Akwa Ibom Governor just reviewed the curfew from 8pm to 10pm today. At least people who do businesses that mostly move at night would heave a sigh of relief

    1. It is a pity but most of this proprietors won't produce adequate measures in monitoring the children, most especially those in primary school. How many hours can the students and teachers remain on mask. Lots of issues. The number of students in government schools is another worrisome issue.

  22. I know that it has not been easy especially on private schools employees but they shouldn't be selfish. Adults are yet to comply to the precautionary measures not to talk of kids.
Just like someone mentioned we should extend help to our kids teachers no matter how small which is what I have been doing since April.

  23. I know it isn't easy for we private teachers, but lowing students to resume now Will only make things worse. God provide for your children.
