ReplyDeleteI was raped around the year 2013 by someone suspected as a neighbour,a so called pastor,living in the next flat,he doesn't own a church and does not attend as well,you know all those so called pastors that people come to meet at home,the few times i see people come to him for prayers are mostly women,he just gave birth to a baby then,the baby should be around 5month or so,sleeps and watch film throughout the day then go out to do night okada riding,the wife is a nursery school teacher and they fight almost every day.That unfateful night,it happened in my sleep,my fiancee(it was his house)had travelled to attend a function in his hometown,i was writing my final exams so i couldn't go with him,around past 1am,i suddenly woke up to a strange figure lying down beside me,the room was not well illuminated cos we do put off the lights before going to bed,as i stood up scared from my sleep,he pressed my mouth shut and held me tightly down to the bed,i was struggling with him cos i initialy tot it was a thief or killer,i managed till we both rolled unto the rug with a very sharp knife he took from our kitchen,i was determined not to let go off the knife,we kept on for seconds and i was gradually loosing my strength,he used the knife to penetrate my neck by the side,it was at that point that i let go off the knife,with full force and in my pool of blood,he DID it,was salpping me and hitting my head on the rug,i was exhausted,he stood up and tried to feign his voice asking me how much do i have in the room,i was just pointing to the drawer,he took tje money there and left,i later fell uncounscious,when my fiancee couldn't reach me,he called his friend to come check up on me and when i opened my eyes,it was in the hospital,my fiancee has been told of what happened and he left his hometown without attending what he went there to do,police started investigation and when asked who i suspect and from my discription,it matches that of my so called pastor neighbour,my photographs were taken and that of the room too,i told the doctors to allow me die,my fiancee would always cry with me,at a point police wanted to turn the investigation against us,the case was transferred to the state CID,the rest became my misery and nightmare till this day,and i have not gotten married yet,i'm 29.I see every man as a potential rapist.

About 2 or 3 years ago, a friend of mine told me peruzzi raped her. I think I believe these stories coming out now because he has always been a rapist
Isn't it interesting that about this time last year, we were dealing with rape accounts and call-outs too? People twisted the conversation then from rape to bringing a pastor down. The issue has issue has worsened. When we refuse to remove the log in our eyes at the right time, sooner or later, it will blind us. God, please help Nigeria and Nigerians see that all forms of gender violence are wrong and we must do something urgently about them.
ReplyDeleteI have to anon on this I lost my virginity at the age of 23 due to rape, I went visiting a friend and I had told him that I was à virgin and was not ready for sex. It was a weekend visit. First night he disturbed me all through I fought hard till I got tired and gave in. Guys don't understand that no means no.
