How NDDC Spent N81.5 Billion Sundry Expenses During Coronavirus Lockdown

Do you really understand this NDDC matter? Even the Devil will tremble.

That an Interim Management Committee of the NDDC Spent N81.5 billion as sundry expenses, including graduation ceremonies in the United Kingdom during lockdown?

Spent N3.14 billion for COVID-19 palliatives for staff.

Spent N1.3 billion on community relations

Spent N85.6 million for travels during lockdown between February and May 2020

Spent N122.9 million on condolences between February – May 2020.

Spent N23.8 million on consultancy.

Spent N2.6 billion on medicals,

Spent N790.9 million as imprest,

Spent N1.9 billion on Laser fever

Spent N706 million on legal services

Spent N1.121 billion on public communication

In all these spending, nothing was "spent" for the common man for whose purpose the Commission was set up.

There was a country.

    5. You see why it is said that even if this country breaks up, we will still fight the demons fighting Nigeria as a whole. Is Akpabio not a Niger Delta man? Instead of fighting for his suffering people, he is busy looting money for his unborn descendants. Our collective problem is not tribalism as some would have us believe. We have fundamental problems with leadership and followership. But these oppressors would have us believe that the solution is in breaking up so that they can continue the looting without any hinderance.

    6. ...including corrupt citizens in like civil servants in public sector, business people and traders in private sectors, lecturers and non-academic staff in schools/tertiary institutions, Healthcare workers, employers and employees as well parents - engaging in all corrupt practices.

Lecturers that embezzle TETFund, sex for marks.
Students that cheat in exams or join cults.
Civil Servants that demand for bribes to do their work or else they hide your file frustrate you.
      Employers that cheat their staff.
Employees that inflate invoices, misuse their work hours or resources on the job.
Heads of Admin in Health sector that block opportunities for younger Healthcare professionals.
Contractors that do or use substandard work/materials.
Traders that adulterate goods or cheat customers.
Parents that buy marks/expo/special centres for their children's exams.
      Mothers that maltreat their househelps.

The corruption in this country is pervasive.

    1. They should stop sensationaling this NDDC stuff and act by jailing those culpable before BABA will be shocked and nothing will happen as usual.
These corrupt politicians get away with heinous crimes like this because after all the media trials, Nigerians will go back and continue living like nothing happened and these people will bribe their way through it.
Abeg, its the usual jare, nothing is new because nothing will be done to Akpabio.

  6. Nobody loves Nigeria. Everybody is on a mission to finish the zoo. We all know deep down that Nigeria isn't a nation. It's an association of different nations. You'll never think to rip-off your nation in this manner if you genuinely love her. The solution is to dissolve this caricature of a country. Nigeria has expired. What type of primitive stealing is this?

    1. Ceaser that NDDC money was meant for the development of the Niger Delta region and not for the development of Nigeria as a whole. Yet it was still embezzled by a Niger Delta man! What does that tell you? For me it means that even if Niger Delta becomes a country on its own, naso dem go dey continue to embezzled the money. Whether as Nigeria, or as Biafra or Arewa or Oduduwa or Niger Delta, we will still have to battle corrupt leaders and followers.

  7. Why are African leaders so greedy; is it a curse? How much money can one individual spend, how many houses can u live, how many cars can u drive. As it is Akpabio will have billions in his acct from his sojourn as Governor/senator. Have it in mind he still collects full salary and benefits for life in dos roles...he and his generation can never suffer has it is. So why continue to run Nigeria dry....someone like Obama ex'president of a whole nation may not have more dan 2 properties. Maybe one he lives and another Holiday home; probably both in US. But a Govt official in Nig will want a home in all continents of d world at d detriment of his ppl. Is dat not wickedness? And dey will carry Bible/ Quaran every sun/fri.

  8. This should never have been and should no be about Akpabio and Nunieh, NDDC has been since inception, a den of robbers, and agency where people go and make stinking money, it has always been a cesspool of corruption, it has never been a good place and the agency failed right from the first day they where formed.
that woman running her mouth wide is corruption itself personified, she is just shouting everywhere because those who sees a place to deal with Akpabio have automatically seen her as a tool and media audience, she is not even consistent in her rant, not that Akpabio is a saint but that woman haven worked in that God forsaken agency where corruption grows horn and have grandparents, and did not cry wolf since this while only to start shouting up and down, has some serious skeleton off her sleeves.

  9. Nigeria:
Ninty percent of it's citizens are poor.
Seventy percent of its citizens are jobless.
Their education system is one of the lowest in the world.
The country's minimum wage is not even upto thirty thousand naira, which by the way, is just a feed money for just three days. (for families that can manage perfectly)
The issue of insecurities has been in existence since we all started existing as Nigerians.
There's zero power supply but the citizens pay their electricity bills every month. The issue of zero power supply has been there since time immemorial.
Majority of her citizens lives in adject poorverty and wants.

The youths?? Most of them born into a poor family has absolutely no one supporting them, they are usually on their own!! The ones that manage and struggle to go to school, there's barely any job for them as every job vacancies has been occupied by the unqualified politicians children, their side chics and family members. So the poor man's child is left to wander about because they have no one to help them get to the top. Note that they have graduated from schools with good grades oo.

Every day that goes by, Nigerians read on the papers, watch on the news that their politicians looted billions of naira/dollars. They also read about fund mismanagements.

But Nigeria is a poor country.
Most Nigerians still cling onto this fallacy that they've been told since they were born, "Naija go better"
Some of them that believed in that big lie had long been dead. If it's not either by the issue of insecurities, Bad roads, poorverty, it will be by the issue of a force personnel abusing their power on the poor armless citizens.

    Who did we really offend??

    1. Yori Yori Princess, God Will not punish any of these political thieves. No! You know why? It is in the hands of Nigerians to choose their path. Allow a fragment of the population to keep destroying the country or allow the jamboree. Let me say this, it will never end until we rise up to defend our country.

I hope that every Nigerian would realize soon that our problems are not ethnic, religion or political affiliation. Rather, a small percentage of the elites who we allow to make decisions on our behalf.

I consider myself first a Nigerian before a Niger Deltan. I have had the opportunity to travel across all the regions in Nigeria, and i would say that from the East to the South, West and North, we cherish each other. I have not seen myself treated differently from any individual from each of the regions. This is not to say that our society does not have individuals who may likely treat us differently and make us question our diversity / unity.

It is quite troubling that a nation has evolved to a state where we now believe that no Nigerian is corrupt free. I know i am not corrupt and would never have a second thought about it. I believe in due process and i am sure you are too, and so do many Nigerians.

Let me say this, Nigerians need to rise up in mass to demand for strong institutions that takes away power from the hands of political leaders. The law of a nation should guide leaders and the citizens and not the other way. The Western countries are consolidated by strong legal institutions. Such institutions allow leaders to represent the people by the tenets of the law and not where the security or justice institutions are tied to the apron of the president or ministers. It is in Nigeria that political leaders who are employees of the masses would build road and organise fanfare to celebrate it as if the resources for the projects are private resources. Yet, we would praise them for doing a job already paid them to do.

I hope we rise above God help us slogan soon before we all sink with Nigeria.

All we do is rant on social media, just wait till the next BBN begins, all focus will be on it.

  15. But why are we complaining? A country where questionable wealth, power, suppression and oppression is glorified, what do we truly expect? People who have the opportunity to be in position to exact authority and power will not only steal, they will steal enough for sustainability. Someone up πŸ‘†πŸΎ made reference to ex POTUS likely having just two properties. Most Nigerians are wired differently in the sense that we feel unending wealth could be the solution to our individual problems. My point is, we may all be on this table after all albeit in different guises. Until we become accountable and glorify hard work, until we become less greedy and live for integrity, until we learn to see life as a journey of purpose...we may just be in for a short ride to self distruct. I bet you this figure as shown is nothing compared to what’s gone down. This country is F**ked on all fours.
