  7. Nigerians don't value flowers. It is either money or nothing else.
When I saw that dude aiming at her forehead, I thought it was a handgun, for daring to come there with flowers. 😊😊😊😊😊

  8. I hate Nigeria for this. Stop downplaying nurses, they do greater part of the work!. my husband is a nurse and he earns not up to 100k after 15yrs of working. we leave from hand to mouth,a RN for that matter. Nurses shld always be looked and checked out too. Patients gift my husband something's sometimes because he patient, kind, cool and calm. They even tell him secret things.
He carries poo, urine, vomit, check on every now and then, small doctors that just started work today disrespect him because he's a nurse. I pray the social work he's trying to work out, works out for him.
being a nurse is a scam in Nigeria, they see them like shit .Myyounger siblings and parents don't even respect my family because my husband is a mere poor nurse but have more regard for our last born that works with MTN
he does night shift and nurses are more active than doctors at night. My children will never ever ever study nursing because of their dads experience

    1. My dear that’s Nigeria for you oo. I am a new graduate, RN in the US and I am making equivalent of 50million naira per year here ooo. Registered nurses here in the USA make plenty money ooo.

    2. You are a saddist.Speak for nurse's and don't start comparing them to doctors.Secondly bind the spirit of envy and witchcraft in you.y talk about your brother working with mtn.i presume u and ur hubby don't know wots up.nurses are easily leaving for us n uk.no go plan yourself, just dey one corner d nag.go and study medicine naaa,is it late?

    3. So sad to read because nurses perform a very critical role. Doctors only check in on you and prescribe your medication, but the nurse is the one who cares for you back to health. A registered nurse in the abroad can easily make 100,000/yr in that currency. It is a pity that they are so undervalued in Nigeria that even family members turn down their noses. A friend of mine her father even went back to school and is now a nurse practitioner, he now operates as a doctor and make even a whole lot more. I wish your husband all the best.

    4. @ 23:58, what's your problem in this life? Why are you attacking the anon above??
And see the the disjointed English you are spewing out sef, shame no dey catch you. Common gtfoh.

    5. Pls make una take am easy oh. The average pay for RN in USA is 70-80k. There is no 'easily 100k', that's the higher end salary and with years of experience, not the average pay. Or the pay in high income states where tax and expenses are equally high. Of course this year is different as salaries were increased due to the hazard pay of working with COVID victims. I think the best thing about the nursing career in the US is the flexibility, not even the pay. You can choose your hours, choose where and when you work and no matter the state you move to, you have a job for you. Same can't even be said for doctors.

  9. must be the high brow hospitals where they may be well taken care of ..in a place like Alimosho heath center will prefer cash gifts which will go further for them

    1. In truth the flowers are not practical. A kind gesture, but impractical. Spa treatment offers, beauty products, gift certificates to a nice restaurant, gift baskets would have been more practical. But she did it according to her own thought process so who am I to criticize.

  23. She tried her best, very thoughtful of her. A friend of mine who is a nurse said they were given tax holiday which runs from when the lockdown was announced and currently running. 50% discount was also given to them in five selected stores and two groceries stores, one year free parking ticket included on the list. It feels good that some people appreciate what our medical practioners are doing, especially this time. Someone argued that they are doing their jobs so they don't need the recognition. But I say they do. They are heros. If you are one on this blog, you are highly appreciated and loved. Keep doing what you do.
