Governor Bala Mohammed Apologises Over Appointment Of SA On Unmarried Women Affairs.

Governor Bala Mohammed has described his recent appointment of a Special Assistant on unmarried women’s affairs as a clear mistake of the head.⁣

The Governor said the appointment of Balaraba Ibrahim was meant to address the plights of widows and divorcees in the state and not unmarried women.⁣
In a statement by Mukhtar Gidado, his Senior Special Assistant on media on Saturday, August 8, 2020, the governor said the word ‘unmarried’ was mistakenly added in Ibrahim’s letter of appointment.⁣
The governor said he decided to open a channel of communication for widows and divorcees in the state, following a series of petitions he received from such women in the state.⁣
He said widows and divorcees constitute a significant segment of the state’s population and creating a communication channel for them could help in addressing their plights.⁣
The statement reads, “After due consideration and in keeping with his campaign pledge not to leave anybody behind, the governor graciously acceded to their request hence the appointment of a special assistant on women affairs, with the specific responsibility of handling matters related to widows and divorcees, not “unmarried” women.”⁣
“Unfortunately, while producing it, the word “unmarried” was inadvertently introduced into the letter. This is a clear mistake of the head; not of the heart which the Government sincerely regrets.⁣
The governor also apologized to all women in the state, while urging the people of the state to put the matter behind them to achieve his administration’s goals for the state.⁣

  1. When I first saw this news, first thing I thought to myself was what is governments business with women's marital status. Now they see the backlash and how stupid they made themselves look they have changed mouth.
The mentality of men really needs to change, they need to keep themselves busy with important issues and the state of the country instead on constantly thinking of different ways to control women and their lives.

  2. They always look for every inch to shift money one side.. This life no balance at all

  3. The ladies knew their Poli-trick-al plans,
They wanted a forum for sharing single ladies among
    themselves like kola nut gworo
See as God catch them in their poli-trick-al machinations?

  4. This Bala Muhammed and Okezie Ikpeazu are the worse governors in Nigeria. Misplaced priorities that all they are busy doing

    1. He failed in FCT

Why were you expecting any different in his state?

  5. I don't get. Do they want to arrange husband for them or give them welfare. For Iran, na so them dey take advantage of them and institute a day or a week marriage, pay 'dowry' and sleep with them. Even innocent virgin girls. Kai! Zaky zaky people practice it too as l heard.

  6. I respect Bala Mohammed, owning up is uncommon with this recent politicians. If you think it's a joke ask Buhari to own up. He will start trading blames.

  7. Not bad to have a ministry for widows and divorcees, just that the money meant for such people should get to them, it shouldn't be an avenue to siphon money.

  8. "Mistake" of the head kor. Same thing Okorocha said after series of backlash at the cqeation of his "min of happiness, human jollification and marital bliss". They are all clueless and resource wasters.
