Pastor Adeboye Tells His Church Members The Reason They Must Resume Church Services

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has called on all members of the church to resume attending services on Sunday.

This follows the decision of the Lagos and Ogun States governments to lift the restriction on worship centres.

Adeboye noted that some services will continue online, but urged congregants to be physically present in church.

The cleric stated this in a video message on Tuesday titled, ‘From Lockdown to Leaping Up’.

“I encourage you all to go back to church for fellowship and begin to enjoy the benefits of corporate prayers again. The Almighty God in Hebrews 10 vs 25 said that we should not forsake the assembly of one another.

“There are those who will talk to you and say ‘why don’t you continue to stay at home? After all, you can pray at home and God will hear you’. Yes, I agree. Anywhere you cry unto Him, He will answer. But He says specifically in Matthew 21 vs 13 that His house is called the House of Prayers.

He himself designated the House of God as a place where you will pray and the answer will come fast. That is the reason why David says in Psalm 122 vs 1 that I was glad when they said unto me, let us go to the house of the Lord because He knows that when you go to the house of the Lord, you will be in his presence where there is fullness of joy,” Adeboye said.

He, however, advised congregants to observe all protocols relating to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Adeboye urged members to wear masks to services, while they would be given hand sanitizers before entering the church.

  3. Yeah, it is good to gather and pray but when you pray alone, you tend to be more concentrated, focused and pour your heart genuinely to God. I discovered this during this pandemic and the response I got from the prayers looked like magic. Someone that was owing me 250k since last year, paid it this March after I poured my heart to God. Evening mass gat me till further notice

    3. I got a lot of my prayers answered during the lock down period but it doesn't negate the fact that there is something about the gathering of brethren. I am so looking forward to worship with my fellow believers

    5. Wow. This is nice.
Reading testimonies of individuals praying in their closest alone or with their families is awesome.

This should encourage others to seek God for themselves as well.

Remember Matthew 7:7= Ask and it shall be given...

  5. Why the side eyes, it is true. You can pray on your own surely, but the assembly of God’s children is very important in our faith as well.
Ever wondered why Jesus made a point of saying ‘where 2 or more are gathered...’ even though you can pray effectively on your own?

  6. He forgot to add that tithes, collection and donations would be collected more easily in physical church.

    2. You sound foolish or willfully ignorant? Is it only tithes they collect in church? You don’t know that the devil is attacking the church of Christ. Look around you, don’t you see that it is the institution of the church that is under attack? The devil knows the power generated when christians gather and he’s bent on stopping it but your one sidedness have chosen to be sensitive. Educate yourself.

  7. When a man of God says anything about church, you people have lots to say or give him the side eyes.i don't understand. What is wrong with going to church? When we go around in crowded buses and go to the market with so much crowd and no protocols.

  8. Why the side eyes,He has not said anything bad at all. There is power in corporate prayers.

  12. God lives in our heart not a church building

  13. Going to church is an express directive in the bible: " do not forsake the assembly of other believers...." Pls let us not confuse individual prayers with cooperate fellowship. Both are good and necessary. In a private worship like many have said we have time to focus on God and pray especially for things that matter to us, while in cooperate worship there is what is called cooperate anointing which we can never get on our own, when christian gather together iron sharpens iron and we edify one another with our various giftings and abilities, furthermore prayer of togetherness when believers raise up their voices in unison is unrivalled. That is why in psalmsits said that how good and pleasant us it for brethren to dwell together....Its compared to the anointing on Aaron signifying special grace released in cooperate worship. In summary both have their places and believes must participate in both regularly for ultimate experience of God.
