Sunday In House Gists - Motherhood Journey....

This should be interesting...........

To get a baby birthed and thereafter are stages that make or breaks a woman.......

I personally find the others OK but the one of childbirth is beyond me..THAT PAIN you cannot compare to anything else and is the most difficult stage of the Journey.

The way God packaged the whole child birth thing eh,is amazing!

    2. Each pregnancy comes with its own wahala. Mine is vomiting, constant saliva. Can't stand fruits and vegetables. For the entire pregnancy i only eat plain foods, little or no oil. But delivery is always fast and painless. Once i get to the hospital, give me 15mins am out of labour room. Don't no what is labour pain, and I have 4 children. I bless God. Breastfeeding was cool for me. I extract and bottle feed. Sleep i sleep well, hubby and i take turns in waking and doing the night feeding. Mothers please extract your milk and feed,so you can test if you have someone with you.

    3. WEANING!!!!! Almost killed me, all the above stages Were like moimoi compared to the physical pain and emotional torture I went thru when i was weaning, oh my poor baby was also traumatized, but NOBODY ever talks about or prepares you for how difficult weaning is, I couldn’t believe it when i was going through it. That was most definitely the most difficult in my motherhood journey. I did it the cold turkey style.

  2. The labour birth itself. The rest is fair enough.

  3. The most difficult will always be the pregnancy/birthing stage.Because no one can help you with these stages, you have to bear the pains and discomfort all by yourself.
There's no easy stage with motherhood though, may God bless and help all mothers.

  6. God bless every good mother.

All the things listed ๐Ÿ‘† there are work. Most mothers don't have enough sleep, they stay up all night to put things inorder and prepare for the next day especially if they are not stay at home moms.

While we take care of our children, let's not forget to raise them in the ways of God and teach them good morals, it's important because it will bring joy and peace to the parents.

  7. Maybe All if you ask me. I have seen a lot of women complain at all stages. While some don't complain at all. Different stage bring some different pain.
    Some stage its emotional pain
    Some it's physical pain
Some is mental she might feel
At some stage she feels all-round pain.
    Don't Ask me how I know๐Ÿคซ

  8. The four stages of pregnancy showed me pepper, from the nausea to the excessive spitting, the hideous nose๐Ÿ‘ƒ the darker skin tone and eczema that refused to clear despite the different recommended soaps by doctors.
The first one was CS, but the pain was nothing compared to the second pregnancy.
I cried and wailed, confessed all my sins and begged for Mercy. For where?

The nurses were used to it, so they kuku ignored me , I was hitting the walls of the hospital non stop and I am sure outsiders could hear my screams.
I was vomiting and stooling at the same time
The first baby came and I had momentary relief but the nurses quickly stimulated my tummy and another labour started , the second one chose another style and came with legs tearing the whole place.

I spent 4 hours after delivery being stitched.
I couldn't sit properly for days and after a week, the wounds were not healing and they couldn't even stitch it back again because it was not a fresh wound.

The sleepless nights started and I had sore nipples always from feeding two babies constantly.

I had no assistance except for hubby and I was constantly worn out and stressed.
The strength I never knew I had materialized and I still wonder how I made it through those days.

We bless God for His mercies and grace always.

    8. Twins squad sorry oh. I can relate cos i have twins. Mine were birthed in their 7th month. 2 weeks of incubator. But my delivery was painless. 1st baby came out,and was induced for the 2nd one. Did not feel pain, just told my doctor wanted to poo. No tear. The 2wks i stayed in the hospital helped me. Cos by the time i was ready to eave, both mothers were on standby. Did exclusive for 2months then switched to formula.

  9. It depends on individual Infact pregnancy...You can have a smooth pregnancy journey and end up a difficult childbirth and vice versa
For me, my pregnancy journey was really smooth, no vomiting Infact I was glowing then came childbirth, I was induced and labor lasted for 2 and half hours but it was so painful!!!I would rather go through a less painful labour that ll last for 6 to 8hrs than that... The pain was horrible and I am still traumatized!!!
I enjoyed breastfeeding, I did not feel any pain
I sleep during the day whenever baby gives me sleepless nights...

  10. I feel like each stage comes with its own moment, from going through the entire 9months with different symptoms,to labour pain and those that even opt for cs,the healing process pain to breastfeeding,oh lord, the sore nipples and theyll say let the child keep suckling on it that way๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ฉ and finally ,the sleepless night, when theres no adequate sleep, unncessary migrane,i remember i used to cry sef,hot tears o.Mothers ehn,una welldone o

  11. To me it was the breastfeeding, pregnancy and child birth was quite easy for me especially labour and childbirth but I saw hell breastfeeding, aside sour nipples my breast was always full, baby will suck and be very full yet breast will still be full and strong unless I express a great amount I won't feel better and I will feel relieved for like 30minutes and am back to square one this continued even after one year .All the doctors I complained to was saying I should be happy that my baby had more than enough but they don't know the hell I was going through, I had to stop breastfeeding after one year as it was seriously affecting my health....imagine having very full breast that u have to change bra that is well padded almost every 2hours,i can't even remove my bra except in the toilet cos once I do the breast milk will start coming out as if they open tap not dropping

Delivery was a breeze after receiving my epidural, basically lounged on the hospital bed till I gave birth.
Breastfeeding for the first 5 weeks was painful, o po po po.
The sleepless nights? I'm still battling with it.
      May God help us.

  13. Hmmmmmmm...A difficult one to answer..No stage is easy sha but I think the labour is d most difficult because of the pain..I had preclampsia or what is it called.. My Blood pressure was extremely high that the nurse screamed and ran off to call the doctor. My people at the end of the day, I was augmented for the baby to come as soon as possible even though I was already in active labour..The augmentation was hell, I was literally speaking in tongues, when my baby came I had no strength to even look at him..ThankGod it ended in praise..

  15. The birth o. The pain is incomparable.
Many women never recover from the trauma reason they didn't go the second journey. Some are no longer mentally fit.

By the 3rd one,I personally chose CS abeg before my heart go follow come out.
LO and BEHOLD were supposed to be same CS but they rolled out earlier while I was dancing in church, haha.
Mummy-in law be like 'kedu maka ndi mkpeleputa na abo?'(how are those 2 that rolled out?)haha. Easiest birth though.

If you have caring people around, the other stages you can handle.

Childbirth was also very easy lol walked in and walked out 7hours later labour pain was like an intense menstrual cramps very bearable infact the nurse where shocked i wasn't being hysterical and screaming or anything..
New baby phase..first breast feeding was painful i never hexperredit!๐Ÿ˜‚ hmm i resumed work 3weeks later i would have no sleep and go to work next day i wonder how i did it God endows mothers with an extra dose of resilience for the task..

  18. The birthing is scary and painful yes but once the baby is out, all that is in the past, the pain goes away. But everything else after that especially the sleeping stage can have a long term effect on both baby and mother. The way I see it, the birthing stage while not the easiest, is the most joyous

    3. My first pregnancy, I suffered terrible cough for 2 good months. Heart wrenching, chest tightening kinda cough that got husband man scared. He had to send me to my mum, so I stayed with her for 3 extra months.
After suffering that cough from hell, morning sickness started at the 3rd month. If I take water, I vomit, not to talk of food. Every other thing was fine. Was glowing and still doing baby girl things and I didn't add much weight. People really admired my stature then. The birthing was easy though I had episiotomy. Terrible pain that I don't wish to experience again.

Due to the easy birthing, I decided to go for the 2nd missionary journey thinking it will be smooth as well but I was mistaking. I was on admission every month, same as my daughter. As they are discharging her, they are admitting me. I was very sick, lean, ugly and always weak. Couldn't stand for 2 seconds without feeling weak and dizzy. I had to take maternity leave at the 7th month, thanks to my boss.

On the day of delivery, I was stuck on 5cm for over 2 hrs and the pain was terrible. The nurses and doctor on duty were confused and just when they were thinking of calling my gynae, I screamed that I wanted to poo and they checked and saw I was already on 10cm. Just 2 pushes and my oyibo lepa baby popped out. Everyone was surprised though because labour wasn't progressing. They nicknamed me strong woman in that hospital.

I have to be emotionally and mentally prepared before I think of carrying another pregnancy.

Oh, and my kids didn't pop out on their EDD, I had to be induced. First born came out sleeping with arms folded, second born came out sucking mouth and crying. They share same date but different month and year.

  23. I'll start by saying childbirth was the shortest part of the whole thing for me, mostly because I pushed mightily twice when I shouldn't and jaggedly tore myself from one hole to the other. It was stitched.
Pregnancy was a breeze, I threw up twice only, ate junk food like a loon but gained no extra pound. The 1st month post birth, I slept a lot. My daughter latched expertly and my milk was readily forthcoming to meet her needs.
What was hard was the total lack of support and almost disinterest her father showed throughout the process. Even after she was born and he saw how PERFECT SHE IS, he still would not show her love.
When she was less than a month, he held her and she cried. This monster used his hand to force her jaw together, I screamed. I was already planning to divorce him and that act sped things up.
My daughter is a ray of light, she is the best gift God has blessed me with and God helping me, its only tears of joy I have and will shed because of her, in Jesus name, amen.
We are starting life together, me as a single mum and my precious girl, as the most beloved daughter who has my heart forever.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That's one disadvantage of exclusive breastfeeding, when it's time for introducing other foods, they usually hate it cos they've become attached to breast milk.
It's best to introduce other foods to the baby from 4 months if not it's till you wean them , even after that na with force and threats.

      Delete
    2. @Twins squared but it wasn't so for me. I did exclusive and when it was time to introduce complimentary food it was as easy as ABC and know so many people who also had it easy for them

      So the generalization isn't true

    3. Babe just Google up...they say your exclusive breastfed naby is not regetting food until you ve tried 40times or so.....so I relaxed myself, I know she hates anything milk so I removed that. I proceeded yo rice and fish, she ate little...i was so so happy. Tried ambala and ewedu, she ate some too, tried banana, she ate little. I am still trying and I noticed she doesn't like repeating food, so I am giving her a distance of maybe 2days before repeating food, I bought beger biscuits for her. Bought baby food and mixed with breast milk....ots a longggg process but you will get there.
Then let her put her hands in the food too, it will be messy but you will enjoy it.
Another thing she takes is oatmeal though little too.

  26. All the stages are not easy but for me I'd say the birthing stage cos I don't fall labour and I don't feel pains.

For my first,I was expecting what I've been watching in films,I felt nothing till 41wks when I was i was induced.

Same with my 2nd, induced at 40wks and within few hours I had him but I had a very bad laceration that left me bleeding badly,I was stitched without no anaesthesia, omo I saw hell, me that my threshold for pain is high. I felt every prick and pull chai, this traumatized me It so hard to forget.

My own difficult stage was the sleepless nights, prior to having children,I sleep deeply and I enjoy my sleep so much but, childbearing changed everything that up till now,if I hear any little sound I'm up.
May God bless all mother's, it's not easy at all.

Breastfeeding was hard cos I wasnt lactating and I also had inverted nipples. Almost became depressed cos people judged me for not breast feeding.
