Anonymous Claims Responsibility For Taking Down Nigeria's CBN Website

Anonymous, an online network known for launching cyber attacks against government institutions, has claimed responsibility for bringing down the website of the Central Bank of Nigeria..
The move was taken in solidarity with the #EndSARS protesters.

.
Anonymous retweeted a tweet by one of its affiliates, @loriansynaro, which read in part, “#Anonymous #OpNigeria #EndSARS #EndSarsNow. The Nigerian central bank website has been taken #Offline. https://cbn.gov.ng TANGO DOWN.”
.
The website of Nigeria’s apex bank on Friday night displayed the message, “500 – Internal server error. There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.”
.
The Spokesman for the CBN, Isaac Okoroafor, could not be reached for comment on Friday as he did not respond to repeated calls.
.
Earlier, Anonymous had hacked the Twitter accounts of several government agencies including the National Broadcasting Commission which has in recent time been criticised for its high handedness and stiff media regulations through its Broadcast Code which increased the fine for hate speech to N5 million.
.
The #EndSARS protests have been taking place across major cities in the country with youths demanding an end to police brutality and killings.
.
Major highways across the country have been blocked thereby grounding economic activities.

  1. Anonymous hacked over 5 or more major government websites yesterday and that tells you a lot about this government, because INEC website which was approved for 1.5 billion just to create the website was also hacked so easily 🤦🏽‍♂️😂

    2. TB Joshua prophesied it. There's a clip circulating the internet from 2013 where he was saying that he sees a revolution by the youth.

    4. @Shootergyal the beauty of this is that there are no leaders. We are all leaders leading the protest. So the government can't understand how to go about the bribe. They don't know what's coming.

    5. FINNY one Nigerian prophet saw it. He talked about protests by youths sweeping across the nations and advised government leaders to appoint youth ministers alongside older generation ministers.
      That's Prophet T. B Joshua. Find out.

  10. So why hack Ikeji website?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Website hacking is still a joke to our stubborn leaders. What will make them play ball is to hold them by the balls where it will hurt them. Until they hack their personal accounts and distribute the money to poor Nigerians, that's when they will know that the youths are not smiling. The lazy Nigerian youths have woken up and those technical skills will be directed at them from the presidency to the LGA councillors. Hack their stolen accounts.
