Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State on February 15, 2021, found them guilty on all four counts of conspiracy and obtaining by false pretense brought against them by the Ibadan Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Channels TV reports.
The couple, in a classic advance fee fraud scheme, fleeced one Dunni Olateru Olagbegi N53, 713, 260.00 (Fifty-Three Million, Seven Hundred and Thirteen Thousand, Two Hundred and Sixty Naira) in cash and bank transfer through a spiritual cleansing gambit in order to avoid the calamitous consequence of mysterious sudden death having heard conversation by a syndicate about a Ghana- Must –Go bag stuffed with United States Dollar bills in the boot of a car.
She was also tricked into bringing funds to cleanse supposed USD bills.

ReplyDeleteThat’s how my sister was telling a story to us one day. She said she entered a taxi in surulere area and they started talking about dollars in a Ghana must go bag in the boot. She now chook mouth inside. They said someone forgot it but there is charm on it and they need to do spiritual cleansing on the money. She stupidly followed them to one prophet. They asked her her account balance. Babe was a broke as a valentine s day broken bed. They now started telling her to call people to borrow money. Omo , she think am, no one to call to ask for 45k for that rubbish. That’s how she left and said she’ll come back.
Some minutes later, she started rationalizing everything and asking herself if she was stupid to have even followed them there. God saved her. It could have been a ritualist den.
What would have happened ??? Just really curious cos I know that’s what these lunatics did to their victim
